Hate to burst your bubble but when a game is literally 2 and a half months away from releasing, any footage shown from the game is what you are getting no ifs ands or buts. So yes, people are rightfully jumping to conclusions because the game is not going to radically change from today all the way to September unless it gets a significant delay.
Sure, Payday 2 isn't all about robbing banks these days but point still stand: How would that even work if it's open world?
Also not too sure what you are expecting a franchise about robbing banks and doing heists changes so drastically it's basically a different game. I mean fundamentally speaking isn't GTA games all the same gameplay wise, with some improvements and different story?
Or like Action-RPG of some kind, idk.
Dallas, it's dangerous to go alone. Take this medicbag. =)
thing about gta yes its mostly about being a criminal but each game the story is way different and game play is different like graphic changes game play differences.
When i look at payday 3 it looks the exact same no real difference i just want something different not better graphics or animations maybe one whole game. if they are going to make more sequels i mean whats the point if its the same game it just should be one game?
I get that you want things to be different, but there's just some stuff they really can't change, hostage taking and looting vaults is always tied to the game's name, not why Dallas is robbing bank.
I am one that is willing to give them the benefits of the doubt, mind. They did add in new gameplay stuff - such as sliding, the new "thermal" scope, hostage being your shield and how enemies can how charge at you - and we haven't seen anything about the skill trees, perk and all that.
The trailer only shows loud heist and action stuff, but they have yet to share anything related to stealth. I may be a bit too optimistic, but I do think we have too maybe unknown factor to definitively say PD3 is just a copy of PD2.
Also on the topic of them just continue on Payday 2: You really want them to just continue updating PD2 with that weirdchamp engine of theirs?
If you wanna say "Just port PD2 over to Unreal Engine" I don't think that's how it works, since assets can be incompatible in different engines. Even that's not true, PD2 has like, tons of stuff to port over.
At least we are now in a new location? PD2 is Washington while PD3 is New York so I guess lore wise both games are different?
At least it's not like the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that is Overwatch 2 omegalul

If so, then the trailer and dev diary 1 wasn't well thought out IMO (lots of criticism in the forums).
Come to think of it, dev diary 1 was mostly just stuff we already saw in the trailer, which makes me think there's not a lot of new gameplay mechanics remaining. IIRC the only thing that was new in dev diary 1 was about how stealth and loud will be "fleshed out" (and if it's what I think it is, I don't think stealth players are gonna like that).
I do agree we'll have to wait and see, but I'm not holding my breath at the moment.
That's what a trailer is for, morons.
A trailer is not a "only be positive about this or go to concetration camp!"
no real info on new mechanics, core systems, story, deeper gampley features, how things interact with each other...
this isnt like PDTH to PD2. they are starting from scratch in a completely diffrent engine
