I have never met a game community so disgusting and toxic in 15 years of online gaming.
I originally played this game when it came out got to level 64 and got bored, I came back a few days ago, And i have never been insta kicked so much or spoken to like i was a piece of ♥♥♥♥ in my 15 years of online game, I always thought moba communities would be hard to be beat in their toxicity but Payday 2 has trumped that by a long margin.

In the 20 or so games i joined today, I was able to play exactly 0 of them, Either i was kicked for not having an infamy level, Kicked for not having a medi bag, Kicked because no-one explained that they were doing some ridiculously obsucre strategy that involved me sitting still for 5 minutes while 1 other person did all the work, The amount of times i have seen people speak like they are some all knowing god and that i should basically go kill myself is astonishing.

This is a shame for such a great game, But the people playing it have destoyed this game.

Edit: What people don't seem to be quite understanding here is that most of these kicks are when in lobby so nothing to do with me not necessarily knowing tactics, I don't talk on the mic, I do type in the lobby asking if stealth or not, I don't rage at people because there's no point in it, Yet i spend more than an hour trying to even get a game.

One of the kicks today i asked quite simply "stealth?" twice in chat, I got no reply kept with gear i had on because one of them had full armour on, Host started the game looked at my armour called me a noob and kicked me.

It is quite simply shameful how bad this community is.

You should have played UO, this is nothing compared to those days :zombiehead:

I must say I've never actually experienced this issue. I've been kicked twice before, but nothing like you've described.

Your experience sounds frankly horrid and I apologize on behalf of those that at least try to communicate with their team about what's going on.

I should be on sometime after 7pm CST, add me and ill get ya in a few games...if you dont mind stealthing more often that going loud =)

My experience is generally you either get treated badly because you say something that sets someone off or people don't interact at all until they very end, where they simply say, "gg" and disappear forever.

Sounds like you are not up to date with current game strategies and people are frustrated with you. If you haven't played in the last 3 months on a regular basis you are really out of date.

Not your fault, but you may want to try playing with some newer players and learn as a group, or some seasoned pros who you can play with on the regular who will teach you.

Never had the issue but random players tend to be not the brightest and I just circumvent the problem by playing with friends. It shouldn't be that way and the community should be much more open.

Try hosting your own games to avoid getting kicked. If you can't, then maybe games without kick or something would be more what you'd like.

As for obscure strategies...not sure if you're referring to stealth attempts or what...but generally it's safest if one person attempts stealth.

what games are you tryign to get into ? cause if its like deathwish they usually want higher levels or specific set ups. Also try the starbound steam forums, now thats corrosive xD

Im with ya. I've been kicked on the third day of firestarter for not having a saw even though someone else had a saw, kicked for bringing a sniper rifle, kicked right as I enter a server and kicked at the very end of heists right as we are about to get to the van. And when I decide to sacrifice the offshore money I need for the next level of infamy and host my own game, I always get someone who thinks because they have a mic that they are incharge of everything or the people who have no idea how to play. It's become nearly impossable to play in public games. I never though I would say the hackers are better than the common players but at this point they are.

People still play this game?

I literally just tell those people with mics or anyone who thinks they're magically in charge to shut up or they're getting kicked. Most shut the hell right up lol. But I haven't hosted public in some time now. Just a general rule. People tend to calm down when confronted rather than continue their behaviors.
Go play LOL in bronze league then come back here and be happy.

this could be said about most RTS communities =P

Really, that's basically the atmosphere in the majority of any public games involving PvP of any kind, and/or FPS of any kind. You enter a public game, it's the luck of the draw whether you get toxic people or people that are willing to cooperate and compromise.

I'm having generally good experience with this community. There were some arseholes who kicked me right before the end of the mission, but most people are either neutral or nice. Maybe it's because of infamy, maybe it's region-specific and Central Europe is a nice place to play. Try to get over these unpleasant situations, and don't take them personally.

This obscure strategy was probably one-man-stealth with the rest of the team waiting in full body armors in case of an alarm. It's easy distinguishable if you look at loadouts. Also, if you have <60-70 lvl try to stick to Very Hard difficulties (with Pro Jobs if you wish) - you can be kicked form OVK and especially DW for being low lvl. Your build is probably lacking useful high-tier skills yet.
