Anyone know if there is anything that points to how long Bain has been researching into Baldwin's Lament?
http://payday.wikia.com/wiki/The_Guide_of_Bain
So, at least since somewhere between Payday the Heist in 2011 and Payday 2 in 2013...
It is almost as if something triggered some deeply buried memory in Bain's brain and he is trying to figure it out.
If you want to look into something weird, that might not have anything to do with the secret... But who knows...
On the Bank Heist map, and by extent Firestarter Day 3, this sidewalk, or at least from this angle the left half of it

It behaves for the sake of sound effects and bullet hits as if it was made of metal.
People datamined the heck out of the game and found no indication the map had anything hidden, but the metal sidewalk is just weird and out of place.
No clue. Could be something as simple as changing the material it is listed as, or simply to go into the map and change the material that way.
But the fact that they haven't changed it makes me just question it.
Look at it from another angle. Why would they need to change it? It doesn't cause any problems with the game, nor does it prevent the level from being completed. It is just an area of the map that sounds differently than it should.
Bain apparently has lines implying he served in the military, referring to Baghdad and the Vietcong (there's also a side job that implies he used to be a cop but, yknow, that's a side job). Perhaps he saw something strange while serving and wanted to find an explanation for it after he quit. Perhaps that thing he saw is what made him quit in the first place.
Granted, if there is anything of relevance in Iraq or Vietnam, then it would raise the question "why didn't Bain just send the clowns there asap", but he has been somewhat... cautious? Can't think of a better word.
Up until mid-2015, all heists took place in or near D.C., and up until early 2016, all heists took place in the U.S.. He might've not been sure if the gang would've been able to handle stealing something in another country. Furthermore, he might've not been sure the gang were loyal enough to do that (obviously they kind of are, as ever since he was captured the gang's been trying to finish what he started).
Additionally, Murkywater, which is pretty much neck-deep in whatever we're dealing with, is also stated to take stuff from those regions in Shadow Raid.
