Oh, then there's that whole "Overkill approved" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that made almost everyone in the modding community hate Oli and his goons.
Pocohud's a good one, just be sure to turn off the chat notifications or set it to "Me only".
1 - HoxHud users blame Overkill / the game for breaking when it is HoxHud's problem 99.99% of the time, leading to a continous flow of threads of people asking why the game is broken, when the mod is what does it. This has lead to an increasing level of general disdain and dislike to users of it, and the mod itself.
2 - It adds features that are pretty much what people consider 'baby mode' or 'crutch', such as exact timers for things you shouldn't be seeing (such as ECMs and cooldowns on certain skills and other factors) and this has also led to people calling others bad at the game for needing the mod
3 - Citation needed, but there are tales of the whole connection to a certain other Payday 2 mod with Oilpro.
4 - The logo replacement 'error' that came up a while ago was not as well-spread, but those who know of it have not exactly been appreciative of the mod since.
5 - The built-in anti-cheat is often "Overkill's fault", see point 1.
Is that even a secret? Not that I care; if you're going to argue against HoxHud, that's just about the dumbest reason there is.
