Hold the bag or throw it into the van? [Ending a Heist]
Hey everyone!

I've been wondering, I see people sometimes hold the bags on their backs instead of throwing it into the van or helli and stand on the escape zone. Does that make a difference?

Now I've made a bit of research but players have been discussing that the result may differ from map to map and they did not have full proof or they aren't 100% sure of what may know. So what I know till now is a vague rumor.

Apparently it could cancel count of the cash you hold for yourself apparently it counts and doesn't matter.

Does anyone have enough knowledge for us to understand the mechanics between the bag zone and escape zone as well as holding the bag(s) in the escape zone?

Bags on your back count. However on any "bag focused" heist you have to throw enough bags into the van to get the required bags to activate the escape zone. Makes sense?

What about missions where there is no place to put the bags (like Mall Crashers)? Do you have to be carrying them, or can you drop them on the escape zone and have them counted?

You would need to have the bags on your back for the bags in Mallcrasher to work.

Either on your back or in the van. Anything else is just on the ground

Rats day 3 has a helicopter to get the bags.

Day 2 of Watchdogs you can carry the last 4 bags onto the escape helicopter and still have them counted. Bain will yell at you like you failed, but it still counts them.
What everyone else above said. Bags in the van or on your person count towards the payday.

Any bag that you just throw on the ground or in the escape zone or whatever is lost.

Also, I recently found out that if you throw bags into the sea in Watchdoge Day 2 they respawn. Not sure if that happens for other heists.

That being said, anyone know if in Watchdogs deathwish, it would be a good idea to load 8 bags into the van and escape with 4 on you?... Any idea how they spawn in Day 2 afterwards? I got the idea but didn't manage to put it into practice yet.

That works for shadow raid. Except for body bags, conviently :)

If you escape on the helicopter on day one, the 4 you carried will spawn at your feet on day two.
