Security door alerting guards question
Is there any difference in opening a security door with a keycard vs drilling/ecming it ?

Does opening with a keycard does not alert the guards ?

Guards will be alerted if they see a drill on the security door, but as keycard and ECMing is completely silent, they will not be aware of it. They can be alerted if they see an open security door on some heists though, like Big bank.

Yeah it's on regards of open doors that I'm wondering, do they treat all open doors as "illegal" open doors or is there a difference between open doors with a keycard (the keycard can be seen ) vs doors open with drills/ecms...

No difference at all, the door itself being open is the issue.

For the most part doors being open doesn't make any difference at all.

On Big Bank, it's the server room in the first area being open that alerts them, but the security room in the back area being open won't alert them.

On some heists, namely big bank and Frame day 3. Others, like the regular bank heist, the guards ignore the open security door.

I've never had a guard alert on a Framing Frame security door.

I think the patrolling guard that comes after 4 kills will alert if he sees them, haven't seen it myself but one of his recordings is something like 'All security doors are sealed, no sign of intrusion here'

Oh yeah true, got mixed up with the open vault book case. I'm sure in the past they used to though

That one is a bug. They don't alert on the open case or even from seeing the vault. But if they walk into the room, they will pause for a bit, and then the game will think "something" tripped the lasers on the other side of the closed door

(Unless you're talking about the vault being open? I've never given them a chance to see one)

Nope, they can get alerted if they see the vault throuhg the open book case, whether the vault is open or not. I just tested it.

Edit: the guard walked through the open book case, saw the vault and then sounded the alarm. If thats what you meant. But the vault was closed, so apparently they will be alerted whether its open or closed

This was pretty much what made me wonder, I silently drilled the server door then used a keycard on the security door, I know the server door alerted guards but was surprised after the security door didn't alert them.

I guess the safest way to stealth big bank is to kill all front guards then.

Check the reason. For me, it's always been the lasers have been tripped.

When it happened to me it was suspicious activity.

I think it was suspicious activity for me too. I know for sure it was closed vault/open bookcase because the guard was standing down there using his earpiece, and there was nothing else down there that could have alerted him. So yeah as long as the book case is open they can get alerted regardless of whether the vault is closed or open
