I think they swapped the numbers. I just looked up the numbers for Germany, here 82% of the bank robberies in 2012 got solved and the perpetrators went to jail.

Eh, I'd prefer counterfeiting. Much more safe if you are discreet and careful, soloable and besides you have all the time you can spare. Just keep your mouth closed and work carefully.

Well the clearance rate for murder in German is 98 % and in the U.S. about 60 %, so I guess it's difficult these numbers for Germany and the U.S.

Well, they did only go for the tellers, which, if looking at Bank Heist and GO Bank, seems to be almost accurate enough.

Reminds me of one of my favorite shows. It's a British show called Hustle. Sure it's about con-artists but they pull off some truely epic heists, stealing the crown jewels epic. It's worth checking out if you like crime shows that aren't about the cops.
Back to the topic, people have been breaking into the ticket machines at the train stations around here, using everyone's favorite saw. From what I hear there's over a grand in the ones at the bigger stations. Now that's a quick little payday, only problem is the whole map is alerted. (ECM anyone?)

The one thing PD2 has taught me is that I'd never actually want to rob a bank IRL because I don't want to die or go to Federal prison. Also, if you were really going to do it the right way, you're not going to go solo or unarmed, you're going to have to have a professional crew with all the right tools and knowledge. Most real-life bank robberies are done for chump change by desperate people who don't really know what they're doing.
