I like the specular sight for short ranged stuff, the Military Sight for midrange, and the Trigonom Sight for everyday things. If you want to have a good pile of scopes I suggest getting the Gage Courier Mod DLC pack as those sights are all free to attach to weapons and you can get them more reliably than the normal Payday Card drops, just keep collecting packages.

Speaking of Hologram: I am using the Cross (3rd one I think) for short ranged stuff and a DOT for my midrange snipers. Usually in either blue or red as they stand out the most.

A good idea is to go for "PREVIEW WEAPON WITH THIS MOD" in the inventory, then moving the preview weapon thing so that you can peek through the sight, saves you the time to load up the safehouse and the cash to attach the classic sights!

Speculator for all my guns, since it doesn't block half my screen and offers a good picture. It's also transparent at the borders, so I don't get blocked when I scope down.

Without a doubt, Theia for DLC sniper rifles.

I really like the solar sight for being unobtrusive at close range

Are you playing on a 5" screen or something?

Speculator Sight & See More Sight for CQC and mid ranged combat, and to be honest i can still kill cops at long range with them... Those are basically the only ones i use (except on Sniper Rifles, where i use either the Milspec Sight or the Theia Scope).
The reticle i use is always dot 3 in green or red.

I use Milspec/Acough on my long range rifles depending on what looks better on the gun, Combat sight for the giggles on my stealth rifles and usually the See More Sight on any rifle that I want to sweep around at close/mid-range.

Red Dot 3 on everything.

*edit* I mainly just try to stay away from the Gage sights because all of them except the Combat sight are in appalling condition, cracked and smudged and that... well that annoys me.

It depends on your purpose. Obviously putting a military red dot on an SMG or something wouldn't be practical, I usually tend to use the Proffesional Choice, Milspec Scope, and Military Red Dot for the M308, and Surgeon Sight/Holographic Sight for assault rifles.

See More Sight/Speculator.I use the tiniest dot.

Can't speak for the assault rifles, but if you want to turn your snipers into CQB rifles, I reccommend the Acough Scope, because you don't have to deal with the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ damage screen shaking so much

which assault rifle and scope combo's produce the least amount of recoil & camera shake in single fire mode?

See More Sight and Solar Sight for everything for me.

Prefer iron sights on my pistols, but there's nothing wrong with the pistol red dot.

I love specular and pistol red dot sight.

Considering every optic in this game according to Overkill has to be on some sort of high mount CO witness only the only really low profile ones that do not block too much of a your screen are the CMORE sight, the Solar/Trijicon sight (though the base is a bit wider on this one).

Depending on the pistol the Red Dot doctor optic for the pistols can help to improve its accuracy stats with only a concealment negative, however on some the upgraded iron sights are actually more beneficial statically.

If only Overkill gave the player the option, like we should, to choose how we mount out optics or at least not having almost every single optic in a high mount there would be actually far more viable options then there are now. The other issue is that some optics work better then they would on other weapons, for instance the SCAR H, the AK5 and I think the AUG, all ADS a lot closer to the optic then many other weapons. So if you like other optics like the EOTECH then those would be platforms that you could them on without loosing too much vision around the target.
