PAYDAY 2

PAYDAY 2

İstatistiklere Bak:
Why Are We Wearing Suits?
I suppose it's a way to blend into a setting like the bank or I suppose the nightclub, but why are we bothering with jackets and ties to rob a Murkywater warehouse, weave through an art gallery, or shoot cops for cocaine?

If anyone remembers from Payday 1, there were suits in heists like the bank where suits were appropriate, but clothes changed depending on the heists. In "Diamond Heist", which was a stealthy robbery of a wealthy millionaire's high rise, you wore just black clothing and body armor.

In "Counterfeit", you were disguised as a pool repair service, so you were loaded up with pool repair tools and the like.

In Green Bridge, you wore rain slickers, 'cause it was raining, you know?

Anyway, I think there should be at least optional clothing changes per heist where a suit is just downright rediculous.

Suits are badass. Besides, if you're robbing a warehouse owned by mercs, there's no outfit you could really wear that would allow you to fit in (minus theirs, but well, that'd be game-breaking).

I don't see how Gage can arrange us all this illegal things, yet can't get his hands on 4 Murkies outfit, for us to blend right in.

Or even. Metal Gear style, kill 4 Murkies, strip them, get their gears on.
The possibility is limitless. The only problem is - People are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrified of changes, and OVK are too "busy" to implement things that can make this game infinitely better with more diversity.

They HAVE some different lines for different jobs? And in the first game, they exactly had TWO outfits: Suit and Kevlar.

Did you really just say that?
There are people above, already provided evidence of different outfits.
Diamond Heist - Black Tshirt + Kevlar.
Counterfiet - Pool Repair Team
Hospital - Nurse Outfit ( If stealth success )

Yes, that is EXACTLY, TWO outfits. Suit and Kevlar.

Yeah people have been requestion color customization for the suits for ages. Don't think it's gonna happen anytime soon though. They got other things that got priority atm instead of how your suit looks.

Adding customization lengthen game play.
Nearly everytime I load up Payday 2, I spend at least 15 minutes to retweak my load out, customize my gear, fix up a new mask, sometimes rearrange my skill tree before doing any actual heist.

Think of - If I can customize what I wear, or even weapon camo. That'd truly be going in with style.

Evidence of how customization lengthen game play -
APB Reloaded is a free to play PvP game. It've been out for quite a long time.
But people still play it, but mostly not for the PvP aspect, but for socializing and the extreme heavy customization aspects.

*In no way I'm suggesting Payday 2 should turn into a heavy customization, socializing place. I'm just pointing out - The Payday gang (lore goes) are veteran heisters, they stick together, they "die" together. I find it logical that the gang would start to customize some of their gear, since the saying goes - How in a battlefield, your gun is your best friend?

I didn't know and didn't want to risk racial slurs in case it wasn't there >,<

I'm too white to get away with that stuff.

As far as I see nobody raged about the parody ;)

No Mercy and Counterfeit were DLC jobs added way later (Counterfeit came over a year after the original release). Before that, there were only six jobs:
First World Bank (Suit)
Heat Street (Suit)
Panic Room (Suit)
Green Bridge (Suit with a cheap raincoat added - the viewmodel wasn't even changed beyond 'make sleeves yellow. Hardly any work compared to Kevlar)
Diamond Heist (Kevlar)
Slaughter House (Kevlar)

So, yes, it was basically only two outfits from release onwards until the DLC hit.

I would prefer the operation appropriate clothing in PD2 as it was in PDTH, but I believe that one of the things that is holding this back is the variety of different custom masks that players can wear that would make it difficult to differentiate who is who.

As it is now, you know for sure that the guy wearing the brown suit is always going to be Dallas - and the guy in grey is Chains - and so on. I suppose it's one of the few ways that the devs can have the characters retain their identity because of the custom masks.

The DLC is still counted as part of the game.
Hence - PD:TH still contain more than 2 suits.

You wouldn't say "PD2 basically doesn't have sniper rifles" because they're on DLC and not on original release.

because they have nothing else to wear silly

Yes, I would say PD2 didn't have Sniper Rifles when someone brings up weapons in a possible sequel saying "but PD2 had them". No, it didn't. They were added WAY later, WAY after release with quite a lot more development-time available (in fact, there was probably no real deadline as of when that weapon-pack should be released). Same for the three DLC jobs in the first game: That was content create long after the game was released. So, no, that should not be taken into consideration.

Does it even matter? I mean, the last thing i do in Payday is looking at the clothes they wear, because usually, i have more important things to do.
And some of the clothes in Payday 1 looked just wrong. Diamond Store in a T-Shirt? Really? If you go the "stealth" routine, shouldn't you try to be as invisible as possible? Chains can wear a T-Shirt, he's black enough so nobody see's him in the dark but the others? It doesn't make much sense.

hi-vis armour & different coloured bright suits gives you a constant peripheral awareness of your teams actions as they sprint and scoot around in amongst all the madness.
many times ive lost track of who is who and had to concentratate on the floating names, getting confused as to who has what loadouts.
hi-vis armour and suits are good for when ppl are surrounded by cops. they stick out in the crowd.

Dallas has a yellow bruce lee/kill bill tack suit mod and im totally baffled as to why the others in the team havnt had a bright tracksuit made for them too.

id settle for orange jump suits...

O.O

I agree with this. The different colored suit and ties make it easy to distinguish between each other
Because it's not just any suit you see. It is made from the finest of fabrics harvested on the sacred mountains of Bain's homeland. Here the fabric is blessed and hardened with fragances and oils that both protect the wearer and wrap them up in a cocoon of comfort.

Not only that, but after several soakings in a secret sauce the suits are now resistent to DNA completely. The colors of the cloth reflect light, almost giving the wearer an apperance of invisibility out of the corner of your eye. In fact, unless you are standing right infront of someone you will be completely hidden!

But at the end of the day, we wear the suits for one reason.

It makes us look DAMN good.
