If it's a DLC mod, there might be an achievement for it.

Otherwise, card farming is the fastest way. You get a card for completing a heist, and they have a chance to be a weapon mod (which unlocks one copy of the mod it gives you to equip). If you want to get a bunch fast, bring an ECM-- or two if possible-- and speed run jewelry store on normal. Takes about 20 seconds to do, plus maybe 20ish seconds more for menus. You can get a little over one per minute.

He's talking about a mod that let's you "earn" mods while playing. Basically, instead of getting a random mod, you'll be able to pick the ones you want once you "earn" enough gage coins.

It's technically almost cheating, but honestly, nobody cares. Not even Overkill themselves. Nobody will ever blame you for not doing something boring a thousand times until you get the mod you want. I got all of mine before the mod even existed, but even after wasting all that time earning mine legitimately, I don't hate anyone for taking a shortcut. You play games for fun, and RNG isn't fun.

Trust me on this one,you'd save yourself the headache of ♥♥♥♥♥♥ RNG-drops. It would be fine if it was just cosmetic,but sadly it includes game-affecting things such as weapon mods. Some people have even gone for 700hours without getting a Shotty Silencer or Shark Teeth Nozzle.

not a lot of things mark you as a cheater, Goonmod isn't one of them.

Always be certain you know 100% when it comes to mods.
I suggest you back up your save.
A fault on Steam's cloud, and a fault during the download is unlikely.
However, it is easier to be safe that sorry.

Lot cheaper to do a reimage than buying a new PC.
