Heavy stuttering with a 970
One day, payday won't stutter anymore.

I bought recently a 970 (I thought she will fix the stutter of the game) but nope.
Sometimes, Payday 2 work fine with all options on (including v-sync) and sometimes (alesso heist/golden grin/ and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Meltdown) the game has heavy stuttering.

It's just horrible! And I can't fix it! No mods, no overheating at all, Dying light work fine on high.
Hell, even in the menu has stuttering when I open the game!

Intel I5-4460 3.2ghz

GTX 970

8giga of ram

HDD 1To

How can I fix this? Thanks for your help

Turn off V-sync, I had heavy stuttering issues with it on with my older card (I have a 970 with V-sync on and don't have that issue though), see if it stops when it's off.

Nope. I tried to enable/disable v-sync, absolutly no effect

Are you being bottlenecked by something else? I recently built a rig with a 970 that I use for gaming and it works amazing.

I bought this PC on 2014 (august)
If my 970 was bottlenecked, I would not run games like Dying light, the witcher 3 perfectly fine. It's just for payday

Are you sure that the game's using the 970? I've seen reports of people having to manually set the GPU to be used rather than the integrated graphics. Are your drivers up to date?
Hansel Macdonald Aug 31, 2015 @ 2:52pm
Yep, I just updated my drivers for the mad max ones.
I also run a 970 and an I5. The only hitching I've ever noticed is one or two times right before an assault wave started. It's run at 120 FPS for me every other time.

Your specs look good so its probably an issue with the game. Have you turned GPU flush off? Worked a for a lot of people (including me)

I'll try that; thanks

How come most of the people who use a 970 are having problems with Payday 2? I'm using a benchmark 960, which is probably below 970 in performance and do not run into any issues.

My old R9 270 had problems with payday 2 too.
But... I check the CPU, he's normal, same for the ram, v-ram etc....

And I tried to turn GPU flush off, doesn't seem to work.
I tried to lower the streaming chunks to 2048, no impact.

I can't see any issues with your setup, as PD2 isn't particularly a GPU or CPU demanding game. Have you tried messing around with the nividia control panel? Try overclocking your GPU's memory, see if that helps.

Do you use any mods? I have a 970 aswell and get lots of Framedrops with Goonmod(even with everything in Goonmod disabled except gagecoins). Without it the game runs perfectly fine.
