Point Break (the old movie)

I just watched the original Point Break movie with Keanu and Patrick (actors). I understand now why they said that this movie was a huge inspiration for PayDay. By the way, it's a good one (the surf phase is quite boring but after this is really nice) and you should take a look if you don't know what to do one night.

I am pretty hyped to see the remake now, it should be epicly epic !

I just wanted to share my feeling, please reply if you watched the movie or saw some connections with PayDay.

The original was great, I've watched it a few times since it was released, also theirs a few easter eggs in PayDay: The Heist which refer to Point Break, well worth searching for them. :)

If you just pretend that the new movie IS NOT named Point Break,it might actually be an enjoyable pop-corn movie...The marketing guys just had to take the extra mile and use the legendary "Point Break" name before the license would expire

Despite the fact it rips the original ideas and character names as well? If it wasn't named as a remake then people would be calling it a huge rip-off and it would only sour the film's gross and critical reception even worse. It's going to bury its own grave and that's fine. The people who decided Christmas day was a good idea for release are nothing short of insane considering they're up against Star Wars. The film will bomb at the box office by that fact alone.

Unless the original film being remade was utter dog crap, there is no point in remaking movies.

Well, other than taking advantage of a new generation that overlooks movies based on age of the film, visual effects and lack of trendy new actors.

The movie will bomb,but there might be a chance that it might actually be a good pop-corn movie
I say to just not judge the book from the cover ; i would wait after the release to judge it
Hell,even John Wick got a lot of flak before the release because the plot seemed lame through trailers,yet,here we are with that movie being considered as one of the gems of the year 2015

The difference between this and John Wick is that John Wick had an original plot with original characters. This film is a cheap re-hash of a much better film with no-name actors aimed to cash in on its name and edginess. I'm actually surprised we weren't treated to Doritos and Mountain Dew tie-in promotions.
