Found a temporary fix for the Platypus 70 Sniper Rifle

If you're like me you put the Iron Sights on the new Platypus 70 Sniper Rifle. It looks cool and seems like it would perform well with Iron Sights right? Well if you did that, the weapon would lock. Deselecting the weapon afterwards would lock you out of using the weapon.

Unfortunately, as someone has said (I don't remember who, but credit to that person whoever you may be <3) there aren't infamous attachments for weapons. So attaching the Iron Sights (currently classed as such) will cause your weapon to break.

Some users have taken to saying, "Just sell and re-purchase the weapon, it'll fix itself like that." Well I found another fix to save the money; attach another optic. I attached the Professional optic to my Platypus and it allowed me to use the gun again. So there you go, just attach another optic and everything will be alright.

Or you can just buy it again. Waste your money and time.

its probably just post-update shenanigans. give a day or so for OVK to take care of it with Update 91.1 or something

Its because they gave the weapon mod for free, which the game allows you to use it, but when it is equipped to something, the game can't validate the non-existent infamous dlc, that is required to use it.
Since the DLC doesn't exist, the game shouldn't have anything to validate, in order to mark you as a cheater, if you have the mod equipped and are using it on your active weapon.

tl:dr, free mod to equip, but the infamous value tells it you need a non-existant DLC, bypassing that issue won't mark you as a cheater because the game checks and says "This DLC doesn't exist, so they must have it"

I guess it doesn't work for everyone then, because it worked for me.

But as sen π said, just wait for the update to use it if you don't want to repurchase the rifle.
