Why would I ever want to go infamous?
I'm getting closer to 100 and I've been thinking about becoming infamous, but I see no point, as your weapons become locked again and your skillpoints will reset, so It's bassicaly the same as starting over. Can someone tell me the pros of becoming infamous please? Thanks.

It becomes cheaper to buy skills, you get more exp from heists, and it takes less skill points to reach higher skill tiers (although that one might only happen at higher Infamous levels).

The main reasons would be that you can unlock higher tiered skills easier, you get a cool flaming card in your hand, and you get the chance to start from scratch without actually resetting the game.
By going infamous you can upgrade the skill requirements for your trees to make tier advancement cost less, thereby allowing you to have more diverse builds.

It was created by Overkill to artificially extend progression to keep people playing, specifically the people at 100 who complained there was nothing left to do. Then people were V-100 for about a year before Overkill introduced Infamy 2.0 where you can gain another 20 levels to earn some masks. That's it.

You might want to do it once or twice to reduce the amount of skill points you need to spend to get to the top of some trees, but it's not worth worrying about. You don't even need an "optimal" build for OVK, and you probably don't even need one for Deathwish with the weapon rebalance.

With infamous 2 through to 5 you get a 10% reduction in the skill point costs to access higher tier skills in each of the skill trees. That means you've potentialy got a few more points to spend as it's easier to get to the higher level skills.

Most, if not all, of the deathwish builds floating around out there require you to have certain levels of infamy to be able to fully compleate them.

It is a pain trying to level up, but master stealthing the Ukrainian Job on Deathwish/overkill difficulty and that'll get you a lot of levels very easily.

By not being infamous I will kick you from harder maps, as well as private profile, hacking from day 1 ( used to be for hacking in general but rather play with a hacker than skinner now ) or having a skin equipped. You will be able to make stronger builds, you will unlock alot of masks that are much cooler. As for your money in this game once you get to a certain point money means very little. We have nothing to spend it on aside from guns, mods, masks and contracts. While that sounds like alot at your level, it is easy to accomplish on harder maps.

To clarify: Getting infamy V means you can have less fillerskills to get what you need.

You get more XP and a cool card to hold in the lobby.

Before you go infamous though, you may want to buy some random weapons to sell.
You will lose all your money by going infamous, by selling the weapons, you have some money to finance your skilltree.

There are benefits up to infamy V, in that you get a reduction in the skill points needed to purchase higher tier skills. Beyond that, there is little point other than if you are a mask collector.

Seconded, hit infamy 5 (make sure you pick the skill tree bonuses on the tree) at least, everything else is just fluff to keep you earning xp so the game doesn't get stale.

Make sure you buy as many $921,000 guns as you can before going infamous, then sell them when you start over so you won't lose all your spending cash!
Razorkiller Oct 18, 2015 @ 4:29am
If you won't achieve full level of infamy, you won't able to get more skill points which will be really useful to make up your own sets of skill desks.
And I can it is worth it.
