one shots most enemies
damage is high enough even for dw
only sniper to have true iron sights
can be modded and used in a crit build
repeater
really only useful in overkill
firerate and reload is decent
damage reaches over 200 with underdog (one shot tans to chest)
no possible use of thiea means no auto spotting and both the iron sights and scope are terrible
all in all repeater requires some getting use to and is only useful in overkill nagant is still best for me
I only use ironsights too. The biggest flaw of the nagant is the reload with ironsights, your hand comes up over the top of the rifle, obscuring alot of vision for a second, which is REALLY annoying when trying to land multiple accurate shots, as you can't see down the sights at all during that period. It also holds less rounds than a repeater.
The repeater, holds alot of rounds, each capable of one shotting even most specials on overkill in quick succession. The downsides of the repeater are the unconventional ironsights (buckthorn sights I think its called). You have to aim in the little nub on the very bottom of the sights, but this is no disadvantage with abit of practice. The other downside is really long reload speed, as each of its 15 bullets is loaded by hand.
In terms of scopes, the nagants wins out here by a large margin. The only scope on the repeater is a sniper scope, which makes it really annoying to use in CQB.
Each weapon has its flaws, but for me personally the repeater is way more powerful, if your aim is good.
lol git gud
Just unscope for a split-second as you cycle the bolt and your vision will remain clear. With practice switching in and out you can always keep your vision unobscured, and it's a complete non-issue.
I will admit that I haven't used the nagant in a while since I switched to the WA2k, but it's miles away better than the repeater in almost every way other than reload. And both the repeater and nagant have the same pickup rate, so outside of initial ammo supply there's not a lot of reason to favor it, IMO.
Nagant has high damage, smaller mag, theia-capable, higher coneal and 1-shots most things on DW.
I personally love the r93 though. It goes very well with my berserker build. with zerker active, it can 1SHS all specials except the winters gang and dozers, 1SBS's tans, and is an overall amazing gun.
my verdict: rattlesnake is best
If you're after a semi-auto sniper that can shoot off more rounds than a bolt-action buy the ninja pack. The WA2K outclasses basically every sniper in the game save for the Thanatos' raw damage.
I prefer the Nagant over literally every other Sniper Rifle in Payday 2. It hits that perfect balance and the iron sights are incredibly usable. Larger sights always feel so claustrophobic and take up too much room. Small sights help a bit, but iron sights are very open and don't zoom the screen in too much.
