Scarface character pack is not able to find it anywhere?
I've searched everywhere for reselling sites but there's no place to sell them anywhere. It's depressing. It's all about Ultimate Edtion or 60 euros. Is there a possibility that Overkill will release this pack again? Or is there a way I can get the key? Damn.. Something came up and I couldn't come in from September to December, and I didn't know this big thing had happened in the meantime.

The heist is all Overkill original work. It dosen't come into conflict with liscensing.

That's the only way to get it now.

It is likely the contract for the character expired. This happens all the time with movie, book or music deals. I've even seen DVD releases where they had to remove a lot of music from a TV show as they didn't have the rights to it on that format, only for the original broadcast.

If you bought the character pack before the deal was done then you've still got him forever. I've still got him to play as or on the team.

it also happens to games, like how GTA IV lost lots of tracks because of that.

Even though that makes sense because they use real songs for the radio stations yet people for some dumb reason complained about that.

I don't know what they'd expect the developers to do after hearing the complaint. Force the rights holders one by one to give in mafia style?

Another thing I've heard about licensing is the owners decide the terms mostly. I've heard that to renew a license it has to cost at least what it cost the first time, and that's if the rights holders haven't decided it increased in value.

So naturally they can't renew the Scarface deal as it likely cost a ton of money they don't have to waste. And even if they could the majority of players that brought DLC already own it and then even had a "get it when you can" sale so the return they'd get on the pack would be minimal as the people you'd need to buy it already own it. Pretty much a certain financial loss if it were to even happen.

I think it ended up this way as originally when the Scarface pack was released 2020 was a while off and 2 years past the expected End of Support, no one will be paying the game in 2020 when the game ends in 2018. right? And those that do already have the pack. However things didn't go that way and they found themselves losing licensing whilst actively supporting the game.

I guess the pack remains the way it is now as they were allowed to release "Kingpin" for free apparently (can't confirm but a new player said they could use it) however The Character isn't allowed in any way in fact they removed some of his dialogue. And the weapons unlike the perkdeck, where perkdecks are a uniquely Payday thing, weapons are harder to justify, especially if one of them is named after a Scarface memorable quote.

Licensing is weird and without knowing the specific agreement that went on it will be impossible to understand the full picture. We won't find out How much it costs to license, What things do and don't belong to the rights holders, whether renewal was even an option in the first place.

Interesting to see that there is still a limited quantity of them out there still available for purchase.

I think its "well it was in the game for X amount of time so why the ♥♥♥♥ are you removing it now" that's how contracts WORK they will eventually expire unless another payment is done to keep it going.

It’s possible the original contract also had ties to the release of the upcoming remake and with Hollywood delays conditions of the contract may be readjusted which prohibited further sale/use of the collaboration.
