the development of the game has been a walk over pins, needles & broken promises.
if you try to develop a game to be a heister game, it should as a baseline never put up walls that defy gravity and sound logical thinking but rather take things slow with one heist at a time with enough time and effort to make things feel like its done with heart and passion.
if a game makes you feel like you are far less capable in "games" where innovative features and mechanical engagement should be formed with a mindset such as the 'sky is limit' than how capable you are in real life ? thats when you should stop shilling for games and start thinking what to do about mechanical engagement vs walls of artificial difficulty that only makes things time consuming and tedious rather than immersive and full of options to interact with the game worlds npcs, props & so forth.
the problem with pd2 is that theres a shill factor that goes far beyond logical & critical thinking and we can simply take the example of the players being provided the option to limit or enhance features to balance things to their own lists of modifications, it simply doesnt matter for even a split second.
"You are a cheater b-b-b-ut We LoVe MoDS"
it doesnt matter if you are served with the absolute most balanced dish youve ever been served in a 5 star restaurant because you are served by "the manager" who 'reports back to your workplace' and the conversation listener sitting around the table behind your back who is calling the manager all and at the same time.
"Would you like some salt with that ?"
my personal opinion is that mods provide balance to fit a broader audience and the ability to make very lifeless/lacking features finally begin to stand out to a point where you need keybinds to make it work.
most people wont like that opinion and will try really hard to undermine it for really no reason at all.
Bad mod, and people who defend it are mentally ill
I actually had to deal with one of these idiots who tried protecting BLM, calling it a "quality of life" Mod
And, when I told him about easy berserker methods that DO NOT require using a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cheat mod, he simply called me a "gay furry p**n addict", which means that arguments are automatically invalidated.
be the grown up in the room
look, if you want to get yourself high berserker without worrying about damage reductions and healing sources ruining it, just install berserkerQOL.
i do not know if it provides these options or not but does it matter if it does provide the otpions or is it 100% bad ? i personally dont find berserker builds fun so i dont really care.
Like, with just a few lines of code, I can easily make myself mod that gives me 10000+ health with 99% damage reduction from frenzy, turning me into stronger variant of built-in bots that can tank 1000+ zeal shots
