the games don't really have a fixed narrative, the levels don't follow any specific order (with a couple exceptions)
Such as Green Bridge and Heat Street being related to the Search for Kento event. And the PDTH version of No Mercy implies that the Payday gang starts the events of L4D, while in Payday 2 it does not.
Also with regards to No Mercy:
Payday: The Heist: In this version it's a L4D crossover and starts the events of left for dead, this isn't cannon to the story.
Payday 2: In this version it's a flashback, where the time it takes places is during the Payday: The Heist story. Isn't related to Left4Dead.
I'm pretty sure that in missions like FWB and Heat Street, Bain comments on the fact the same heist has happened twice.
PD:TH No Mercy obviously didn't happen.
