Depending on your definition of 'a generic battlefield reskin', the answer is yes and no.

Yes, it's a shooting game. Gee whiz, it has guns, it's a clone.

No, it isn't Battlefield. Battlefield always focused on being a Military FPS, whereas this is focused on police-on-criminal warfare. I don't know what you expect them to do, throw stones at each other or whatever, but logically there's going to be guns.

It is Battlefield. It's right in the name. ;) Gee whiz, it does have guns. But if it also looks like Battlefield and plays like Battlefield, and as Bindal said, swaps out the Chinese and Americans for cops and robbers...yeahhhh...there are CoD mods that are more inspired than that, heheh.

Think of it like the theme of Payday 2, with the fast-pacedness of Grand Theft Auto Online, and some Helicopters thrown in.

When you say Payday 2's theme...do you mean something unique to Payday 2 that say, GTA doesn't broadly suggest already? I'm sure they'd love their game to be compared to Payday 2, but I don't see the similarity beyond the extremely generic crime theme.

Because that's pretty much what the people I know have been saying after playing the beta.

It runs the same engine as BF4, just reskinned.

It seems kinda neat, but I have a hard time believing this had a three year development cycle. Might pick up eventually on the cheap for the SP, but multiplayer doesn't look too impressive.
