really slow extracting files and downloading

the more updates this game gets, the slower the download and extraction, please fix your download servers.

It is as Ninja Crouton said. It has nothing to do with their servers (and if you have slow internet, then that is your problem. I am not saying you do.). The patch is just unpacked VERY slowly (as it goes through EVERY file to make sure it does not need to overwrite anything) and therefor is related only to:

file structure
compression
HD speed
and unused space

1 no i dont have slow internet 200mbps 2 its strange since every other games extracts fast 3 it wasnt always like this

Ugh how are you still not getting this? It has nothing to do with internet speeds. If it did, all your steam games would download slowly, since they all download from the same servers

The reason it's so slow is not because of internet.

The game is not just downloading, it is also unpacking, patching, repacking, and going through every file. Your hard drive is slow.

Every other game extracts quickly because every other game is not this one. This one has to decompress the existing files, extract the new ones, insert them into the right place, and then recompress the files, all while downloading.

It wasn't always like this because the game wasn't always this massive. If it weren't for compression it would be over 50 gb

The game extracts while downloading, otherwise people would complain that their download finishes and then they have to wait like 3 hours while it extracts.

And finally, if it had ANYTHING to do with download servers/speeds, other steam games would also take a long time to download since, as I said earlier, they download from the same location

1 thanks i didn knew that, 2 my games only extracts after download 3 then its weird why my download speed effects this game to slow, if they are on the same server they should have exact same donwload speed, that matches to my internet speed 200mbps, 4 are you trying to harass me?

It is NOT the server problem. It is HOW the game is designed (which is crap), but it is BETTER than the alternative that he stated earlier. And no, he is not harassing you. He is TRYING to explain WHAT is going on, and you are not understanding it.

You will NEVER get download speeds to match your internet speeds, that's not how it works. And steam slows down the downloading process while it is extracting other files so that a) it doesn't get ahead of itself and you have a million things to extract and once, and b) you don't overuse your HD making it do too many things at once
