Payday 2 not launching

Whenever i press play in the steam client/open the desktop shortcut, the game says its running then suddently the play button becomes green again. There are no pop ups no nothing. Whenever the game fails to launch, a MDMP crash file named "payday2_win32_release_crash_2023_12_3T14_51_6C0" (date changes every day). I dont have any mods installed so SuperBLT does not exist on my pc. This is the first time opening payday 2 after like 2 years (before on a different account). I surfed the interned far and wide and cant get anything. What can i do to fix it?

What we need is this crashlog
How to find your crash file:
1)press windows button + R at the same time.
2)type %localappdata%
3)open payday 2 folder(before open,turn on feature - show hidden files.)
4)open crash by notepad and copy-paste text in ur thread.
Please note that the file you should open is crash.txt.
Please post crash.txt.Don't post crashlog.txt or dmpd file without request.

Do you have an AMD CPU? There's been a lot of reports of the game failing to launch with some models of AMD CPU.

Precisely, I'd say it's about old cpu now, most likely the CPUs missing SSE4.1/4.2

why would game developers add SSE4.1/4.2 in PayDay 2? Game is working perfectly.

They've mentioned the reason:
According to the changelog of U240.3, "Upgraded CPU Detection routines IN ORDER TO perform better load distribution among processor cores in the newest families of micro-processors."

I also have the same issue but i looked it up and my CPU supports SSE4.1/4.2, but it's still AMD tho

Not part of the problematic CPU's from what I can tell, yours is socket AM4, so like mine (Ryzen 3600) it should just work.
Your issue might be different, so go read the stickies in the Bug report forum to troubleshoot.

i have the same problem, i have tried everything, there is no wsock on my files, restarting steam doesnt work, uninstall doesnt work, steamMM doesnt work what should i do

I'm having the same problem, I'm using a ryzen 7 3700X. Here's everything I've tried so far:

• checking file integrity
  
• deleting every payday 2 files on my computer and reinstalling the game
  
• running the game as an administrator
  
• clearing the steam download cache
  
• deactivating the steam overlay and restarting steam
  
• deleting C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015
  
• installing VCRUNTIME140.dll, msvcp110.dll and msvcp120.dll in the payday 2 folder
  
• doing a system check to verify the integrity of my system files

I also don't get a crash file when the game closes.
