So, how exactly does maniac work?
Does it absorb damage taken from all damage taken individually, or is it a damage absorb that refreshes every few seconds?

it gives you god mode for a moment over whatever the blue area on your armor/health bar. I've had it save me a down once as it was covering my health and I was able to sponge hits that should have downed me. The deck is best used with hostage taker or a friend using gambler. As you give the benefits of the deck to friends too.

It's pretty useless though, I've never had the blue area go over 10%.

You need to constantly shoot cops to keep Hysteria up, but the stacks refresh very slowly, constantly deplete, and once you're out in the open to shoot cops, they just shoot back.

The health regen decks are still king. Which really shouldn't be a surprise, this game is all about attrition, and Muscle/Infiltrator/Grinder/Ex-President give you an infinite amount of it.

I lvoe sociopath as it gives you a combo of support and self sufficiently.

It's the best deck for heisters who play REALLY aggressively. It's best used with zerker and bulletproof, as if you keep killing, you keep getting shielded. zerker allows you to kill faster, thus you get shielded faster. I think maniac is meant to be a DW deck, because zerker is useless on Overkill and below.

Sociopath is another really aggressive deck, and is my current favorite, but manic comes close.

*high-fives* sociopath for life. It also has a really good collection of individual skills for a perk deck. (Panic, damage reduction, armor regen, and HP Regen)

maniac shines when your health gets so low that it starts getting shielded and you get temporary god mode. You can completely avoid downs with it.

You don't get god mode, it's just that incoming damage is reduced by your amount of damage absorption, meaning that any damage that is inferior to it is completely negated.
