Step 1) Find native resolution of your monitor.
Step 2) Set the game to a resolution that maintains the aspect ratio (16:9, 16:10, etc).

I'm having trouble trying to visualize the problem that you're describing - how is your mouse pointing to something that it's not *actually* pointing at.

Any way to post a screenshot somewhere or perhaps an explanation that's a little more concise?

well im a noob at this so i dont know how to actually post a photo here or link.. but i took a pic of the payday 2, its on my profile, the mouse should be away from the thing that is highlighted in-game, also the black lines on top and bottom are there as well..

also my settings in the renderer files found in Users\*USERNAME*\AppData\Local\PAYDAY 2 renderer_settings.xml is

aspect_ratio = "1.77778"

try that
Iron Weasel Jul 27, 2014 @ 10:13pm
Set aspect_ratio = "1.33:1"

to

aspect_ratio = "1.77:1"

See if that does anything.
1.33: is 4:3 whereas 1.77:1 is 16:9
