Free means doesn't cost real life money. Still have to get them ingame, weapons are bought and masks are gained from completing heists, getting them from card drops. You'll be given one of each community mask for free, far as I recall.

PAYDAY 2
Has no micro-transactions
You purchase items for in-game cash just like any other classic rpg game

"Free" means that you do not have to pay real money to obtain it, unlike the Gage Weapon packs, but much like the Gage Weapon packs, you still have to purchase it with in-game money (which isn't much of an issue), and you still may need to be a certain level to be able to unlock it in the first place.

So, I'm new to this group as well - and I don't have PayDay 2 yet - but should be getting it soon. Do you have to do anything to get these in-game items, or just being a member of this group give them to you automatically?

If you're part of the Offical Group, they get added into your inventory automatically - you just need to pay in-game cash to unlock them.

Your wording is more than a little misleading. I'm sure it's not intentional, but I'll have to clarify:

As long as you are a member of the community, the community items will be available in the in-game store (Click any empty slot in your inventory), where you pay in-game cash to add it to your inventory.

It could've been clearer. I just finished work so I'm a tad tired. Thank you for clarifying it.
