Steam update removed music player and all payday 2 soundtracks
Went to go and use the steam music player via steam in game overlay, like you used to be able to and it was many great years. However the new steam UI update has fully removed the music player and in game mp3 access through steam. Steam used to Scan your games and index the games included soundtrack that comes with the game at no additional cost depending of if the dev included and many times they did! I can no longer use steam ingame overlay to play any soundtracks anymore. AND I can't listen to any of the Payday2 soundtracks on steam. I don't see why updates have to remove a feature like this, they took out mediaplayer like it's freaking greenlight.

That's something to bring up with Steam themselves - there's not really much Overkill can do about it.

You can, incidentally, still listen to the soundtrack. The files are located, by default, here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PAYDAY 2
The music player is still in Steam, but it shows up in the game library now. You have to check a box in the drop down in the top left to have them display in your library like games do. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to recognize Payday 2's soundtracks. It picks up other game soundtracks for me.

Payday 2's soundtracks were published on Steam through the legacy method which doesn't integrate with the library anymore. If you want to be able to access it then Overkill has to convert their soundtracks at some point to the new standard that's being suggested at steamworks.
