Is this game playable with 2 people?

Im looking for a coop game to play with my bro. How easy or difficult is this with 2 people? What sort of progression am i looking at?

Every single mission is douable on duo. Even on max difficulties. It requires lot of practice and learning as usual for higher difficulties.
Also note that you can team up with AI, which are pretty great in this game (almost unkillable, you can give them bag to transport loot etc...)

How many missions? Is it sorts like left 4 dead with a dozen or two missions and rinse repeat on higher difficulties?

Are there rewards for finishing on higher difficulties?

the team AI, while very durable, on higher difficulties will show their flaws the most, their damage output can be decent, but target priority is poor, pathing is very poor, loot moving is poor, objective completion is non present, and really all they bring is a different target for the cops

would still 100% recommend this game for you and your bro

there are dozens and dozens of missions, most take around 20 minutes, some are longer, some are shorter, stealth can take much longer than loud, sometimes not

rewards for high diff is more money and XP, each level has certain RNG to it, so it can be different a little bit each time you play

the difficulties themselves add new enemies as you go up, each level adds new enemies/variants

If you're interested, Humbebundle recently had a fantastic deal for a lot of the DLC for Payday 2. It's worth mentioning that some of the heists are locked behind DLC, but you can still play those heists even if you don't own them, you just can't host them. Not sure if the deal is still active.

With 2 people, it might be at one of it's easiest. As the bots will take the remaining 2 slots. The bots are tanky and can spit out decent KPM, however lack any idea of how to do objectives. They do have passive buffs they can give to human players though.

Human players can pick up bags, interact with objectives ect. And can be extremely strong.

A human player can call the bot to follow them and it will follow them around. So each player can have a bot supporting them if there are 2 objectives to do at once.

Although there can be up to 4 human players I hear that 2 and 2 bots is an extremely strong set up. Not everything relies on 1 player. You have a 2nd person with gamesense to back you. Either of you can do objectives. You get 50% buffs in certain categories from the bots. The bots tank quite a bit of damage for you.

There is a career mode that takes players through most heists. There are about 80 different ones or something. There is also a levelling system where you can get stronger as you climb to level 100. Once there you have 2 ways to prestige if you want to. You can either prestige normally setting your rank back to 0 like in most games. Or you can earn a further 30M XP to prestige but keep level 100.

A few specific achievements and "THE END" are not avilable without a 4 person crew. However 99.9999% of the game can be played solo/due/trio.

A few specific achievements yes: But "The End" can be done with any number of players. I even have footage of a 2 player run, we even both fail to shoot [redacted] right at the end and have to start again from the beginning.
