Mountain Master Loud almost always crashes
I thought it might've been mods so I disabled all of them. I solo stealthed the map on my own without issue. I also one time made it to the boss fight with someone else, but we both got downed and we lost.

Every other attempt at the map, the entire game crashes, sometimes just 1 minute in, sometimes when we are in the penthouse. It never gets anywhere near the ending.

I've tried starting lobbies that disallow modded characters and this didn't help at all.


Is this a known issue? What could be causing it? I'm not running any mods.

Post crash log? Might be a memory crash (a lot of heist post-Whitehouse struggle to perform on High graphics settings) - try lowering Texture/Shadow quality and see if that helps.

I just tried a random lobby San Martin Bank and the same thing happened. Don't know how to read the crash logs but all the crashes I had today say the same thing

"Application has crashed: C++ exception
Could not load texture because IDirect3D9::CreateTexture call failed.
Direct3D could not allocate sufficient memory to complete the call."

That means the game ran out of memory, it's a weird thing due hte game being 32bit at this day and age, decrease your graphics and try again

How do I know how much is enough? Is "Medium" enough or does it need to be on Low?

Medium *should* be fine. If you get the same crash again, just lower the graphics even further.

Which specific settings would do the most? Shadows? Textures? SSAO? Antialiasing? Number of Corpses? I noticed I had number of Corpses set to Ultra, which was the highest of all my settings.

Textures should be enough from what I hear others say. I personally just keep a bunch of stuff on low or medium just so i get more frames.

haven't tested enough but I'm trying a run with just lowered AA and lowered corpses. Did Crude Awakening loud without issue.

Textures and Shadows is where the bulk of graphical processing goes. Even on High settings, it's possible to get through heists with no issues; it's just that on High settings you're always dangerously close to the game going over it's memory limit.

What started this now? I was always able to play San Martin bank without issue for several years. Did an update break it or was it just the gradual addition of more and more heists and objects and voice lines and such?
