Confusing trailer, confusing heists, confusing story. Someone please explain it and what PayDay 2 has to do with it.

Has nothing to do with Payday 2 outside of having the character Jimmy from the movie and a loose reference in the bodies from Boiling Point being implied to some of the cheaper cyborgs.

there was an easter egg (poster of payday 2 ) in the movie.

It has the same ammount of stuff to do with Payday 2 as Point Break and John Wick movie cross over. The movie might take away some confusion (At least for me it did).

But yeah, that's how Payday's crossovers work. If there's a movie where some person has a gun, it's possible that there will be a crossover. If there's a video game where some person has a gun, it's possible that there will be a crossover. If there's a real person who just happens shoot stuff,
it's possible that there will be a crossover.

Payday 2 basically turned into a virtual billboard if you didn't notice already with John Wick, Hotline Miami, and Point Break.
Jimmy and Hardcore Henry are no different.

Heroes? Jimmy had us in a position where he could have killed us and offered us what Akan was going to pay us + $50k. I'd say it was pretty much a no-brainer.

Plus, the collab is probably non-canon just like No Mercy, Lab Rats, and Jacket.

this is late but here's a non-spoiler summary that'll hopefully put the payday trailer in context. Jimmy can body hop. He hates Akan, the telepathic blonde who the Elephant is convincing Dallas to work for. Jimmy counters this by sending his friends (the elevator gals) to direct the crew into his hotel room so he could speak to them in private without Akan knowing. Akan's plan is evil and needs a lot of dead bodies to work, which is why one heist involves stealing an EMP to use on a warehouse where they conduct their dead body experiments etc. The van bit in the trailer is set after that heist. Then the next heist is after the trailer, where they use the EMP to find out what Akan's after. It looks like this is all set before the events of the movie, during the 3 years Jimmy was waiting to meet Henry.
