Using the bipod?

If I don't use the separate key for Bipod and instead use the key for deployables, how do I activate the Bipod then? Do I need to deploy all, say, my Doctor Bags before I can use the Bipod?

a separate key function exists that is... well i think its literally called bipod.

by default it is bound to 4.

Yeah I know, but when I use the separate key assigned to the Bipod it does not do anything.

I don't bother with Lmgs because I can't aim down the sights with them. I know, there's a mod out there that changes that. Thing is: it's sort of picky. If you're at a window you can hit the bipod button and deploy it. Problem: you'll get shot up pretty quickly. I'm thinking of Rats day1/Cookoff as that example. Sometimes you can crouch and deploy it on the ground but that's not terribly reliable in my experience.

Where are you trying to deploy it? You have to deploy it where it can fit. Easiest way is to crouch and use the floor or use a counter top.

Yeah, after re-binding the Bipod key the Bipod can now be deployed in an open space. For using the Bipod with Mouse 4, how do I deploy the Bipod without placing my deployables first?

First, you need to actually use a weapon with a bipod mod attached - which is just the LMGs. Then you need to find a proper surface (basically any surface with the right high level will work - including the floor if you crouch and look right). That's it.

FFS , there is a separate button for that. Its called "use bipod". Yeah, shocking RIGHT!
