Santa's workshop elves

So, this is likely due to RNG or something, but do the elves eventually run away after a certain point in the heist? I know that the cops will kill them if you leave them undefended, but here's what happened so far (doing it solo with 3 bots on Overkill, I have the Better Bots installed);

I'm about 43 minutes into the heist and have been piling bags on one of the Chimneys (the one near the starting point, cuz ♥♥♥♥ having to run through the trainyard to the other spot. Plus the elves were close to the first point anyway.) RNG has slightly screwed me in that the loot drop has picked the spot in the trainyard 3 times in a row after having done the first spot twice (unless if it's not RNG of course, haven't played this game in a while. For all I know, he keeps going there after the first two times), so I probably have 25+ bags piled up on that "chimney" waiting to be secured.

I have managed to keep all 4 elves alive the entire time, making sure to kill a cop whenever it's pointed out that a cop is going to kill an elf. But strangely enough, for whatever reason, two of the elves are missing now. I know for a fact a cop didn't kill them, because I have a corpse delimiter on that quadruples how many bodies show up at once, and I don't see either of their corpses on the ground. Is it possible that too many bags of loot make elves despawn? Because if so, that really should be looked into, or at least make the loot spot be picked more consistently (switch between the two rather than choose one based on RNG)

Hmm. That's interesting, but due to how much I was running around with bots following me around, they were constantly getting shouted at as well, so they were pretty much always working.
