Why dont we have more unique reload animations?
One of my favorite things about the first game was the unique AK-47 reload animation and the flip with the stryk. I know the game has been out for a while but if anyone knows why these unique little things were not implemented into this game let me know. Has all hope for more things like this been lost?

There are some nice looking animations espically if you empty a clip in this game, but none compare to the level of PD:TH AK

If you never played the first game heres the reload, so damn cool

I want Fay Cry Blood Dragon's reload more.

Well, those animations maybe look nice. But I think people don't want unnecessary long reload times, just because it looks fancy for some people.

It gets very old fast. Once you have seen it the 20-50th time it dosen't feel as special. Saw a video as was pretty tired of it after the 4-5th time.

just make them the same length as a regular empty clip reload...

So all of 2-3 seconds? This also isn't accounting for reload speed bonuses which would further magnify the reloads going way too fast for what's being done.

Yep I dont see how its hard to grasp that

Exclude animations if using certain reload skills, I dont use reload speed skills (in beta which will be the new norm soon)

Well. Certain reloading animations are goofy looking in the beta. Like reloading the china puff with bloodthirst aced proc'ed from empty:

*Loads in 1st shell*
*About to pull hand back to reload 2nd shell*
*2nd shell gets put in. Without a hand animation*
*3 shell gets partially put in with the 2nd hand animation reload*
*And fully loaded and ready to use. After 1.5 reloads of hand animations*

With quantity comes the loss of quality really.
OVERKILL_Niphen 21/mai./2016 às 14:28
The reason is mostly because we try to be consistent with the attitude of the reload animations. Another reason is, like a previous poster mentioned, a flavored reload, gets old pretty fast and annoying if it feels "unnecessarily" long. With weapons that is more "gimicky" like the western revolver, we allow ourselves to take a more unorthodox approach.

Personally, I would not say that the quantity of the weapons in Payday2, compared to payday the heist, has brought down the animation-quality of the reload animations. Quite the contrary, the time spent on a reload for a weapon in Payday2 is considerable higher than it was back when payday the heist was developed. It would also be quite demoralizing if the work you put out, after several years of increased experience, would turn out to be in lower quality.

just today i was looking for a mod to give me the old AK animation. Got nothing. Still like the G3 Animation a lot. This boils down to: We want more stuff -> we want improvements -> things should be done.

I don't think the guys at overkill are just stitting together the whole day playing CS:GO.

Well, A lot of people like unnecessarily long and fancy looking reload animations. It's a thing called "gun porn", which this game has.

Another great game with gun porn is Insurgency.

You cant transfer the payday the heists animations to payday2 without a proper animation program that allows editing the animation itself, because payday the heist uses a different fps rig, which also has differences in its rotations on the joints etc. compared to the payday 2 rig.

As long as ive been playing payday I can deal with having a longer reload animations. I only use guns that look good even if the stats arent good. Im all about aesthetic at this point so ya im in that group of people but idk if I would call it gun porn lol
