Payday 2 solo everything?

Hey Guys!

Just wanted to ask if its possible to solo the game most of the time even if its a coop game? The problem is i played the game 2 years ago and there was the problem that i got disconnects all the time when i played random so another possibility is to play the game, well, solo :).

Thats all for now, i think more questions will come after i got an answer on this one ;-D

It is possible to do all missions solo.

Although it's technically possible to do most missions solo, in practice you'll probably need help on some, especially at higher levels. Some Steam achievements require a full team of players.

yeah you can solo everything up Overkill just fine
also most people prefer to do stealth solo

thats not really solo, its more like letting the bots do the killing.. solo is no AI

Well i think if everything is solo possible than the AI (except stealth) make the loud missions a lot easier right?

There are some objectives in stealth that require more than one person, e.g. need one guy to disable laser sensors to a vault on one level while the other moves the gold. Other than that the only time in a loud mission where you might have trouble soloing is Big Bank where you'll have to find a specific computer to hack which you can't do on your own which means you'll just have to brute force through that objective.

The game was mean't to be played CO-OP, but solo is possible. CO-OP is way more fun.

That objective actually gives you plenty of time to disable the lasers, get to the vault, and extract all 8 stacks of gold before the security kicks back in. Even in the much smaller time window that you had when the game launched, it was still possible to move at least two stacks at a time by yourself.

Anyway, yes, beyond a few annoying achievements, everything in the game is soloable and as was mentioned, there are a few perfectly acceptable mods to make the solo-with-AI game far more comfortable.

Well, someone else can hunt down the links if they like (you can find them all easily via google) and you'll also need the BLT files for all of these (again, google, follow directions) but I'd personally recommend:

Better Bots - General AI improvements. Among other things, they prioritize reviving you when needed and do a much better job of keeping up when you're quickly moving around the map.

Keepers - Allows you to shout at bots to order them to hold position and attack anyone that comes near. Very helpful when you have to defend multiple objectives.

Goonmod - Does quite a few things but related to this list, it includes a feature that allows you to set waypoints on the map. You to send bots to those waypoints with the Keepers mod rather than only being able to hold right where they're standing.

I don't know if the waypoint feature is exclusive to Goonmod but that's where I'm getting it.

Ask Bot To Carry The Bag - Yes, it's awkwardly named but this one allows your bots to carry bags that you throw at them. It looks like it has a few other quality-of-life features included but I've never been able to get them to work. Still, what it does reliably is handy on bag-heavy maps.

There are others available too but I think those are the most important for a less tedious solo experience.

You can solo just about any heist on any difficulty (including DW). Probably the only one that is excessivly hard (and almost impossible solo) on DW is doing an escape for rats day 2 (all bags made/traded/stolen (11 total) and trying to escape with all bags) or an escape for diamond store (all bags taken (17 total IIRC) and trying to escape with all bags).

Keep in mind, I am talking about a person using all the DLC available to them.
