How do you open doors and stuff with the saw?

The hitboxes as far as i know are a little clunky right now

Weren't the drill hitboxes tweaked yet? If they're still there even without a drill then it's going to take a bit of trial and error to figure it out where to saw exactly because the drill's hitbox will mess you up.

For doors, aim at the doorknob, not the icon. The more damage upgrade (including skills) you apply to your saw, the faster it will open stuff. If a drill's in the way, saw above the drill to hit the doorknob.

if you want to open a door with a saw do you
A: saw the door open trough the middle
B: saw the doorknob/lock

Usually its by the handle or locking mechanism. Or at least by the little circle saw symbol. They're messy for whatever reason.

would be nice to close doors behind you and when you have keys just lock them behind you

Unless any saw experts want to correct me, the most ammo efficient way to saw is to tap the fire button, not hold it. From there it's about learning the number of taps to open something, e.g. 2 taps opens a bank/armoured truck deposit box.
