However, i have no faith in payday 2 players. Hence why i said 500 hours.
First off, stay close to team and objective. This does not mean on 1 square metre, but be sure to have a clear visual of both.
Invest points in your deployable! Like double medbags, double ammo and so. It's a small point amount of points, but a great gesture!
Don't know the heist? Inform the host. He might kick you (wich saves you time) or he might carry you through the heist. Just FYI, telling it midway a heist is a bad idea.
Voice communication Well, honestly I find few people using this. Textchat is more frequently used. Keep track of it, players might give you a tip!
Still, standard setting for PD2 and voicecommunication is weird. even maxed out the SFX & Music will make hearing VO impossible. Go into Options > Sounds. Lower all volumes there, except for Voicecom. Then turn your system volume (whenever Pc or receiver a bit up) all sounds should be more or less equal.
Add people! Preferable at the same level. If you had a nice game, don't hesitate. Build your own little criminal network.
Last but not least:
Enjoy!
There are 2 loud playstyles, Armor and Dodge. If you see someone in a suit with low concealment, they're dodge users. If they have silent weapons, they're probably using Silent Killer
Listen to what your teammates say, communication is key.
If you get one hit by a ninja, type in chat "Cloaker".
First aid kits and Med bags are different. FAK's heal you, but Med Bags heal you and restore your downs. use FAK's to heal you. You can go down 3 times, 4 with Nine lives. Cloaker and tazer downs don't count. If your screen is grey, use a med bag asap.
You will get kicked a lot, but don't give up hope. Some people are mean whereas some people are paranoid. Some people are willing to help (You can add me if you want help)
Make sure you check the team equipment tab pre-heist, and pick an equipment that'll benefit your team most, for example. If your team has no ammo bags, take them. You will always want a Med Bag and an Ammo Bag available. FAK's help too. Body Bags are useless in loud, and Sentries and C4's aren't useful without the right skills
If someone shouts at you when you're down and you get up, its a skill called Inspire. If someone has no health and is still standing. They're using Swan Song.
Bring the right weapon to the job, for example. Sniper Rifles are good in long range maps, but they're not as useful in close quarters.
Be open to experimenting with the skills available, and make builds suiting your playstyle.
If you aren't familiar with a heist, don't be afraid to ask for details. It's better to get information about a heist before going in.
Take cover when your armor is low, avoid taking health damage.
If your teammate is down, assess their location before helping. If there are a few enemies, kill them then revive. If there is a horde, then you might have to leave them. It's better to lose one member than lose another who is trying to help.
Always play the objective, killing means nothing if you havent put the thermal drill down on a bank heist.
Prioritise your enemies. Tazers and Cloakers are high priority. Bulldozers, Snipers and Shields are medium priority. Normal police are low priority. Don't ignore the police though, they get deadly in groups.
Try to avoid doing Deathwish or Overkill heists unless you're familiar with the heist.
Shadow Raid, Car Shop and Murky Station are stealth only. Any heist without the ghost symbol is loud only.
There's a lot of tips I can give rn, there is more but I can't think of them rn. As I said. Feel free to add me if you want more help :)
It's not like DW is virtually impossible or something, the thing is, there's just not much room for mistakes.
Run the Safe House, then run The Baiscs heists from Crime.net. They're patronising, but they help familiarise you with the game.
Run a few games on Normal or at most Hard to get a feel for the game before you try higher-level heists. Wait until you get a few levels and some skill points before you try the higher difficulty settings.
Read chat, try to follow instructions, speak with your team and let the host know if you don't know something. Trust me - people appreciate that, and will often help guide you through some of the game's more obtuse challenges.
Stick with your team, observe what people are doing, keep an eye on the objectives and actually help with them. That doesn't mean you have to be the one to hold your Use key, but at least be around to cover whoever does. Definitely help to move bags whenever possible.
And above all else, try to have fun and not get angry. The worst thing you can do is get into a shouting match with your team-mates. Payday 2 can be difficult and frustrating at times, but it's a learning experience.
