Is there any reason not to use 000 buckshots?

I never really used the shotgun ammo types so my question is, is there a reason not to use 000 buckshot? Is there an ammo pickup penalty or something that I dont know of?

There used to be an ammo penalty, but Overkill have removed it.

How much does that effect the usefullnes of the shotguns? Because I dont rely too much on the spread of the shotgun.

You should... Considering the only advantage a shotgun has is that it can hit mulitple targets... If you're not using the spread of the shotgun; you might as well not be using a shotgun.

more dmg, more pellets, more spread and it used to not be affected by closet and loaded.

00 give you a few more pellets per shell, so you can clear rooms or halls quicker, flechettes are good in a side shotgun to take advantage of shotgun perks but take out snipers (as they have a longer decay distance, meaning farther shots), and slugs/HE/Dragon's Breath pellets can make good shield killers. That said, HE and Slugs are best used only in conjunction with skills like Overkill that affect specifically shotguns. Otherwise, pack a rifle or magnum pistol like the Deagle or White Streak.

For the most part, you can run 000 in your shotgun and get by just fine.

Really the only point to not using buckshot is if you want to use another type of ammo. There is no advantage whatsoever to having no ammo type at all selected. If you want a plain ol' shotgun, you should just take buckshot.

Does it still affect Fully Loaded Aced ammo pickup?
And is there likely to be a penalty put back in place? I assume there will be.
