How the Black Market works after Update 100 And What Buying all Rights to PAYDAY Means.
I wrote this because alot of people are confused as to how the new Black Market system works.

What Happens to the OLD Black Market Content
All old safes and drills will stay on the steam market and in your steam inventory. The drills and safes will stop dropping once update 100 has been released (it has been released). You'll still need to pay for the drill to open these safes. Overkill will NOT make any old safe free.

NEW Black Market Content
Once a new safe is released and you get it ingame you can open it for free, you can sell the skin you get on the market, or the safe if you wish to sell it. You can also buy the skin/safe if you want to. The OLD safes and drill will NOT drop anymore once this Black Market is put into place.

TLDR
Old safes are not free. New safes are free.

"Old generation safes and drills have now stopped to drop in the loot drop. Starting June 24th, the first new generation safe will start to drop in the loot drop. When you get one, you open it for free - no drill required. It's important to mention that no items have been or will be removed from anyone. If you have a old generation safe, you can still purchase a drill if you want to open it, just like before." - From the Update 100 Page

This should cover up anything with the Black Market, if you have any questions drop them below and I'll try to answer as best as I can.

What Buying all Rights to PAYDAY Means
Starbreeze/Overkill have bought the rights of PAYDAY from 505 Games. People think that they meant Starbreeze but really it isn't. Overkill and Starbreeze are the same company.

Why won't the old safes be free?

No idea, this is just what Almir said about the old safes. I'm thinking mostly because it would anger people who spent money on the drills.

Out of respect to those who have spent money on purchasing drills, safes and items from old generation safes. If we would make those free, it would affect the value of all old generation items negatively, which would hurt those who have invested time and money into acquiring those items.

Right. I'm sure that it has nothing to do with Overkill just wanting to squeeze more money out into the Black Market.

Not really, it makes sense. If you bought something and the dev later made it free. Would you be mad and want your money back?

I agree. Besides, the people who haven't opened their old safes already probably aren't as upset that they can't open them, otherwise they would have opened them by now.
