The Judge - Shotgun & Pistol?

So I'm positive The Judge counts as a shotgun for purposes of the Shotgun damage feat, but does it also count as a pistol for Masterminds? I was considering perhaps trying an Enforcermind once again, but if The Judge is only a shotgun perhaps I should just stick with being a Techforcer tank.

It's just a shotgun. It is not considered a pistol. Stick with your techforcer stuff.

Yeah, that's what I figured. Even if it counted as both I was a little wary of losing so much armor and my C4 bricks. Mastermind's awesome for Inspire, but otherwise I just generally dislike the Mastermind tree. (Although it's easier to justify a LMG instead of my trusty ol' IZHMA as a Mastermind!)

It's just a Shotgun... but it rules supreme among them.
At first i was (stupidly) critical of it, until i discovered the Judge's true beauty.
With the right skills it one-shots any normal pig and two-shots everything but the dozers, has decent range (for a shotgun), reload is fast, firerate is insane, and as long as you don't ruin it with the rather backwards special ammo, it can be your best defense against cloakers, tazers and small groups of tans.
It really benefits from Fully Loaded aced as well.

It's a shotgun only. It's a great secondary for stealth and for people who don't have tech headshot or enforcer shotgun skills because it can 1 shot tans without any need for skills

Yeah, I mean I like it well enough but if I could make it do 350 damage instead of only 200 or so that would have been nice too. I was just looking to make it even more OP as an excuse to take mastermind again. I'll just stick to using it as my Techforcer sidearm.

Well technically you can make it do that much damage...
Just add Berserker Aced and Overkill basic or Aced to your skillset, or both...
Massive damage increase.

I have Overkill. I know what you mean, but that isn't an excuse to take Mastermind levels now is it? It just makes the build I currently use remain so. ^_^

It would be awesome if you could trade rounds in it to make it pistol or shotgun. Since the real "Judge" can shoot .45 Longcolt or the .410 shotshells this does. Make it it a pistol or shotgun depending on preference.

It would also be nice if guns from the 40's didn't have a standard NATO rail for modern day scopes.
Or if AKs placed the scopes the correct place.

Real life doesn't apply well in this game. Likewise, the Judge in this game shouldn't shoot as fast as it does because they kick hard as hell. I like the idea though

My friend bought a used Titanium framed Judge 4 years ago. You know, the ones they stopped making because they are TOO LIGHT. That thing hurts your wrist worse than any .44mag. But he was a repot man at the time and actually use it with birdshot on a guy, turned his arm into hamburger with a deliberate wing-shot. If you aim center-mass someone will die out to 15 yards with just birdshot. But after that he loaded 00buck shells for 2 panic shots followed by 3 .45LC's so it wouldn't hurt anyone as bad. But I don't think if this idea is implemented we will ever see a mixed load like that possible, just 5 .45LC's or 5 shells. This would be cool though, a gun for Mastermind or Enforcer pending load.

Kinda wish it was both, or that you could swap out the ammo type or something since it takes 410 and 45. long colt. So that if you wanted to use the pistol side of it you could or if you wanted more damage but less accuracy you could swap out to the shotgun side.
