Shutter codes are useless unless ur crew really sucks , keycard is semi useful but not really since the saw, C4 or 2x ecm can open doors ez pz lemon squeezy. BUT THE AIRPLANE KEYS ARE AWSOME PAWSOME ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
The actual usable items (cardkeys, plane keys, shutter code) have their usage :)
Shutter Codes (Can allow you to see into security rooms before opening them).
Plane Keys (Single Most Useful asset. Instant Escape)
Keycard (It's A Keycard. What? Were you expecting a fancy description? Fine. Put it in the correct door. Good combo with shutter codes.)
Fusion Research (Hey, even if it's bugged, it'll be correct at least one in three times right?)
Garbage Assets:
Blueprints (See The Floor Layout on the Loadout menu. Only useful if it's your first time on the map.)
Guard Intel (See what the guards look like. Again, only useful if it's your first visit to the map.)
Scientist Intel (See what the scientist looks like. Umm, yeah. Look long and hard at the maps sole civilian I guess...)
Ammo Drop (You had One Job Alex! One Job! No Alex, your job Was Not to land those ammo bags in a location we couldn't ever reach!)
Recently did Big Oil on Overkill and decided to buy the Ammo Drop for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles. Spawned in and it was in a tree. /facepalm
RNGesus.
If you get a keycard on day 1 and don't have or don't want to take ECMs with overdrive, and you still want to get to the lab stealthily (or at least ASAP) then shutter codes might help a lot. You can see if the lab is from the parking side even when the shutters are closed, but I don't think it's possible on the opposite side, so if you want to make sure about the server room location you should go inside and open shutters first...
The saw... nah... it starts an alarms too early and takes up a primary gun slot for one player. Having a keycard I'm not taking it.
Plus shutters might help against the police.
On December 2013, a bug caused "palladium" to always be written on the intel. It was resolved in Patch #67, May 2015.
This may seem like a necropost but for people like me just playing the game now and searching for help, it's good to know the bug was fixed.
