does anyone know of a mod to filter
Inappropriate communications? I occasionally get players that think its ok to project their own hate and social issues onto the chat screen, racist, sexist, etc. This can even extend to voice chat. We all know the gaming community can be very toxic with countless cyber bullies, and the mods have a tough job keeping the forum clean, but during actual gameplay where everything matters more, all of the responsibility to manage the filth falls onto my shoulders. I get young kids in my games, and i dont want them exposed to the toxicity of the gaming community. I mean look at what happened to phil fish.

Any suggestions for a language or chat suppression filter would be greatly appreciated.

Mods please lock this thread after i have recieved legitimate responses, thank you.

It'd be too legit if you were saying that to Rex.

Doesn't mean a chat filter is a bad idea, though.
Yeah, in game, where characters saying: f*ck, w***er, s*ck, tw*t and etc. It's will save you from this words in filter chat :)

I'd name it "Calm your tits, mate."

Damn man. That's a risky joke to make.
Eh, I've told darker jokes on the forums before.
Well by accident i said something that could be taken as a dark joke concerning a concentration camp while visiting one woth my school

Even the tourist guide (the actual german term "führer" isnt used there for obvious reasons) had to laugh...

Sorry, just read that

I'm not sure why there's always such a feeding frenzy whenever someone talks about profanity on this forum, or why it's so commonly to the tune of "You. Little. ♥♥♥♥♥!" to quote Hardcore Henry. A chat filter is not a complicated or demanding thing. The assertion that it might somehow lag people's computers is laughable in the extreme. Overkill chose to not create one, sure, but they also chose to not create jumping animation and we don't see gaggles of people arguing how you shouldn't be playing the game if you dislike people sort of floating up in the air instead of jumping.

I'd go one better. I'd suggest an option to bleep-out curse words in character dialogue as well, if for no reason other than I think it'll make certain characters outright hilarious to listen to. "Suck my fat ****, **** **** Cloaker!" I suspect that might be more difficult to accomplish, however, as it may require duplicating the voice lines themselves.

Is it worth creating a chat language filter? I don't know - not to me. But that doesn't make it a bad thing, and it's certainly not something I'd refuse if it actually existed.

It's still a completely pointless and silly idea considering the game itself is throwing god knows what at you, including profanity in all colors of the swearing-rainbow and even in various languages.

And good luck trying to bleep out the swears in spoken dialogue - I can name exactly TWO games where that's the case. Poker Night at the Inventory (Which does properly bleep them out) and Unreal Tournament (which then uses the non-profane swearing exclusively, causing lines to be even more repetitive)

Is there a recommended age for payday2 ? i'm not sure "young kids" should be playing
seeing as the game itself includes strong language, can't see much point in a chat filter

anyone says something truly offensive i'll just kick them, but i find if im playing in public games barely anyone says anything anyway, even when you want them to

:td_Hazard::td_Mask: PI the Toxic Avenger. Little kids shouldn't be playing Payday 2 if you're so concerned for their innocence and psychological health and safety, it's a foul-mouthed M-rated game.

Report them. 'A Quest Called T****' would. Two sides of the same coin, really, T & PI.
Think about it. Same sort of rabid and internationally offensive chauvinism:

Sure thing: 'LA-LA-LA-LA, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!' -- tis a classic 'filter' often used round here.

The "if it werent for americans youd be living in the stone age" makes me laugh, either he means the native ones whose technology werent on par with europe, or he means the europeans migrated there, which kinda defeats the purpose of his sentence as they brought their technology with them
