Question about skill point hacking
So I've been running ngbto for a long time now and the amount of people I have witnessed hacking skill points is huge.

Anyway my question is do custom skill tree mods show the right amount of points someone is using or can it glitch out and show them using all the skills? I ask because I saw a few people commenting on a few posts about how they were being flagged for using too many skill points when they had some custom skill tree mod equiped.

I'm just curious if these people are making things up or its actually a thing that can wrongly tag someone as a hacker.

there arent many people using custom skilltrees (I dont think) but I would guess mods like ngbto wont notice that specific tree at all. you could try it with friends and see how it goes

I think it only shows the official skill trees.
But if he's level 100 and you see less than 50 points, he probably uses some mods

If the skill tree mod implements a new tree properly, then that information will be sent to peers along with the rest. Depending on how it is added, it may either confuse whatever mod you use to display it into mixing the trees up with the existing ones, or it may simply be ignored if the mod doesn't take the possibility of additional trees into account (or the mod might just crash of course). Changes to existing trees would probably not change what information you see in any particular way, though it would depend on how it's implemented of course and how extensively the trees are restructured.

Keep in mind though that these mods use a method to detect cheaters about as reliable as if you were to just ask them if they were cheating. All they see is a few numeric values in a string which they assume is correct, but there's nothing preventing a cheater from just replacing those numbers, or for that matter, activate skills using a different method than purchasing all skills from the trees. I'm quite frankly amazed that there's anyone left that does that, though I suppose there's no telling how many have switched already, leaving only the stupid ones behind to be detected.

You paint a very sad picture, no wonder people say that DW is too easy
