R.I.P. Dragon's Breath rounds?
Effective range reduced from 30 to 14 meters? I am sad. :steamsad:

I'll imagine it's to bring it more in line with the Flamethrowers. Still a great choice for crowd control. Just not for Sniper Scoped Shotguns. :steamsad:

I would think they changed it to make a niche for the new Tombstone Slug ammo. Dragon's Breath for crowds on short distance and Tombstone Slugs for single target sniping.

Dragon's Breath ammo was my favorite anti-shield option. Because of this nerf, it isn't anymore. And that makes me sad. It's still very usable though. Indeed, it comes closer to the flamethrowers now.

Well, I could see that except that the "Slugs" are actually still pellet shots lol.

I'm surprised how many people say its their favorite anti-shield when I feel like the AP pistol has always suited this role way better.

Its likely because they can't aim to save themselves and need a crutch like DB, someone even had the gull to say that because "shields are always on the move its hard to hit their head" anyone else smell BS on that because I smell it in truck loads.

and thats the only thing i dont like about them. why are they that in the first place they even got the name for a single one? maybe they just want to make hype around the new content and then theyll bring it in line by changing it to an actuall slug lol

Yes. Now ditch it with smth else. That thing is now pretty much on same page with flamethrower at this point.

I also love using the AP pistols. Sniper rifles as well. But with DB shotguns, aiming isn't an issue. Also, variety.

Why the condescending tone? I love using sniper rifles and AP pistols as well but like you said, aiming with shotguns is way easier. I don't consider DB rounds a crutch. I consider them an option. One I really like.

The sheer nerve of players, to use weapons and skills that are actually in the game!

Get over yourself, the community needs fewer elitist tryhards like you.

No, it was because of the amount of spread to hit multiple enemies.

Well anyways, there isn't really a point in using shotguns anymore compared to any other weapon type in the game.

Sure because pressing E to mark a shield to get an outline of their model including the head SOMEHOW makes me a tryhard? Nah that's literally BASIC ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ COMMON SENSE, you complain about "using skills that are in the game" how about instead of using a crutch to "develop" with you improve yourself as a player, the complaint of "their head being harder to hit because their moving" is such a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ excuse when you know the majority of the guns ARE HIT ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ SCAN meaning where you aim is where that bullet is going there's nothing in place for the game to tell that bullet that it has to actually TRAVEL to the target compared to explosives like RPGs. Hitscan is literally the definition of point and click so sorry if I hurt someone's feelings because they can't handle the truth on the matter! Even when ballistics get thrown in should range start throwing people off, its not that hard to adjust your aim to be used to such a system.

On one hand, I do believe that the lack of need to aim shouldn't be anything close to the deciding factor as to whether you use a DB shotgun or a single-shot AP weapon. Shields are pretty easy to land a single headshot on, even when unmarked and concealed by the shield, and a 5/7 should still be perfectly able to killing one in two or three quick bodyshots

On the other, I do believe that the accusation of elitism seems accurate, and you're also dismissing whatever other potential DB shotguns might have besides killing singular shields. After all, they can still inflict lots of damage on whatever enemies might be near the shield, are perfectly usable against other enemies with low health and have DoTs that can aid Grinder and Anarchist players. AP weapons' ability to shoot through walls is pretty awesome, too, but just not as versatile as being able to kill entire groups with one or two shots

People can play the game how they like, get a grip. You're not the objective standard of how it should be played and what 'skill' is in this game.
Tiretracker Sep 24, 2022 @ 11:02am
I was worried about the nerf but in pracical sense when you're using a shotgun you're closing in on enemies anyway so you're usually within 14 meters, especially indoors. If you pack a shotgun to take on the enemies on the farside of Heat Street for example, you're probably using slugs else you're not really using a shotgun correctly.
Sure the degenerate "Brothers Dragon Grims" build is less useful now but it still clears a room, just not the entire field anymore.

I particularly like the new acid rounds as they give my shotgun build a reliable long range sniper takedown, something my shotgun loadout used to be vulnerable to. Nick a sniper in the foot with one poison pellet from any distance and it drains their tiny health pool; the DB rounds used to do that too but inconsistently. So I carry DB's on primary shotgun for in-your-face moments and tombstone on the secondary for extreme distances. Sounds gimmicky to just hammer back the meta to make the poison shells shine sure but that's what we got now.
