Are Their Masks Just Rubber?

I've been thinking about this recently and wondering if they're just wearing clown masks or if they're actually wearing ballistic masks? Before i continue i want to make it clear i don't actually play PayDay 2 myself, I just thought It'd be an interesting discussion, anyways, I feel like it'd be a better idea for the heisters to have a layer of kevlar between their faces and whatever hot lead is flying towards them instead of just hoping that the rubber will just bounce the bullets back. And i'm sure the cost of the masks wouldn't be a problem seeing as they, 1: Rob banks for a living, and 2: Can already afford crazy ♥♥♥♥ like Miniguns, Bomb-proof suits and Huge Drills (but i mean, who can't afford one of those drills? They're always half-off or in the bargain bin because of all the times they break.)

Yes, they are kevlar plated. That or they are so lazy they used alot of duct tape to hold their masks together, which on the other hand would cause the rubber thing to make no sense.

Well you can pick the material, I used to think it wasn't just a coating but the actual material, but we both know that's not the case.

I mean who the hell would make a mask out of toast? Or a goats tongue. Or straw. Or gunsmoke!

And what the hell kind of material is "Ranger Black" anyway? In all my years as a metamaterials engineer I've never come across this type of material. Is it dark matter? That's dangerous, son!

If you look at the back of the mask, it has a ballistic mask on the inside.

Helmets are another matter entirely.
