What if Overkill stayed with the original crew only?

In my opinion it would be so much better for overkill to just stay with the original crew from the previous game. The payday gang looks so bad now and its a complete mess of a characters. I mean they added a f**cking youtuber into the crew which doesnt fit in . Also the funny thing is that only a small percentage of characters are played.

I don’t mind more original characters because variety but not a big fan of crossovers or cringe material.

almost all of the character fit in the story in some way, the only exception was the youtubers wich had some issues with fair use and false claims and overkill wanted to help them with it.

but no, i do not want only 4 payday crew, some will have to go while others stay, h3h3 will go, scarface will go (unless they get premission to use him) joy might stay, jiro might leave since bain and by extension the gang are responsible for killing his son.

anything else that i can't think of is up to overkill and what they think would work with the story.

By having so many heisters, it lead to the gang becoming a mess. In the previous game there were only 4 heisters, which was perfect. Look now at some characters which were added, they lack voice lines and have barely any interaction with each other, this is perhaps because they had too many characters and not enough funds to voice them. Also again, most of the characters are dead and nobody plays them. It is okay to have them as side characters though.

Anyway, thats how Ethan, Hila, and Joy became members of the Payday gang.

What if the story characters could only be played in the relevant missions, say someone could opt to play rust in biker mission, that could have been cool imo. Or the characters an extra crew member played by a bot in those missions. I'm not a huge fan of the dozens of characters either.

Payday 2 has some serious content bloat, maybe a lot of the different weapons could have been skins rather than entirely new weapons?

Payday 3 will hopefully hit the reset button and have the original crew back or even an entirely new crew seeing as we don't have the wolf voice actor or bain anyway.

it could be like cod zombies where there is a 4 person crew for each heist and you get to choose in the prep screen

I like the variety. You don't have to hope to bank as much on being able to play as your favorite character. Since you can set 4 preferred characters.

Also just as a side note: I like playing as characters of the same gender I am. It's not a dealbreaker to play as the original cast, but I have my preference.

Well, look at how many voice lines Jimmy has. It is a joke honestly. I used to like him too but I cannot hear him saying "♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥" to medics and captain, over 9000 times.

they all fit into the story. even johnny the pizza guy who became a shady crook because the pizza delivery just wasn't paying his bills! see? very good and detailed backstory. don't see a reason why he shouldn't be a part of the gang.

I hope so too! Maybe Payday 3 will change things around in a good manner. You've got a good idea but many people would've start to complain and demand that those characters should be added into the gang.
