Can i get banned for this?

I recently went in a game and everything was good we were waiting in the lobby and the guy started,i was level 60 with 20 mil on my OFFSHORE account,the guy started the game and it instantly ended,now i am lvl 100 with a bunch of money on me,i was thinking that he is a hacker,can somone tell me what happened and if i can get banned?

Nope, the worst that can happen with anything relating to cheats is that you get banned from the steam discussions/discord i think, and also banned from most player lobbies, nothing super serious like other games, and frankly not many people see a difference between a non infamy level 40 player, and a non infamy level 100 player.

Edit: what happened was some idiot cheater with a mod menu that somehow didn't get internet aids by downloading cheats thought he would be so benevolent and kind to instant win a heist with new players in it and boost them to max level.

dont worry you will be fine, next time be sure that your teammates are legit players. sometimes happens

feel free to have that xp and money. since both of them are really easy to get you dont have to worry about it

Money and exp aren't terribly important. If you played enough of the game, you are bound to reach level 100 and get a lot of money.

Also, going infamous will reset your exp and spending money, as well as deducting 200 million from your offshore money, so if you want to clear your level and money, you can use that option.

Running into cheaters happens, if you feel bad about it you can reset your account progress but you won't be punished for this, especially because it was someone else's actions in a way you had no control over.
At the end of the day infamy past level 1 really doesn't matter, just keep on enjoying the game in the way you see fit! But hey, if you're ever going to do anything too wild try to keep it to offline or friends only yeah?

I also had that happen when I was starting. i joined a lobby while i was still low level, and someone instawon the job and I got maxed out instantly with a bunch of money. This was years ago, so i doubt anyone's gonna be too harsh on you for it.

You CAN reset your progress in game if you're concerned about that.. It's a fairly common thing to happen. I doubt anything will happen to you.

On a more serious note, the skill point reduction is given in its entirety at infamy 1 now.

Don't even worry about it.

Let's say you back up your save EVERY time you start a heist, It won't stop you from getting achievements and that's gonna need you to reset those which will require you to reset your entire save to make it stick, To put it bluntly it's an entirely unreasonable thing to ask players to do, Unless you have a specific friend group to play with, Or hack the achievements in a believable way so hackers can't unlock them for you in an unbelievable way in a hilarious twist, one way or another you'll likely get at least 1 or 2 hackers that will get you an achievement config that get's you auto kicked from certain lobbies if you pub.

The witch hunts for this game are mostly over; People used to have to get rid of screenshots because people didn't remember this games history back in the day.

Good news is I don't even think the mods check leveling achievements or instant/offshore money anyway just infamy and heist completion ones so your probably still okay regardless.

EDIT: Any auto-kick mod will always auto-kick private or friends only profiles so that will also restrict you from those lobbies.
