But you can downgrade your game version to virtually any update you want - some have crashes though but they are usually fixable - using built-in Steam console commands. Currently playing update 11 with a friend and we're having a blast.

If you have issues and need troubleshooting just ask me. For really old updates you probably will have to create a new save file, I needed to for U11.

Google it. There's a subreddit for it, but I'm not going to link it.

Thanks for the non-answer... I did google it and found nothing otherwise I wouldn't of asked the community.

So just link it or tell me how to do it instead of being a vague A-hole.

Tbh, I highly doubt the beta version is still around.

But saying the beta was the "good" version is a discussion of it's own. Personally I think the game had its prime around the deathwish update.

I remember I really enjoyed the game during beta, thought it was incredible. Then after full release it just felt off and it only got worse from there. Haven't been able to enjoy the game the same way since.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

There's probably SOMETHING for it out there, but chances are you won't find anything with working links anymore. People have moved on. The only thing i could find is this: https://steamcommunity.com/app/218620/discussions/8/490123197949161762/

Welp. Nvm. I got ninjad.

From beta, through the first several updates, the only noteworthy change I recall was that you needed skill points, so that people wouldn't yell after being killed and that silenced weapons used to be heard through walls. All the guns worked like the saw; being silenced just reduced the range of sound. Then bringing back the cloaker Then broad strokes from there - to compensate for all the guns and skills added in dlcs and the like, more difficulty modes. Then the dozer buffs. Roughly speaking, repeat that untill present. Some of the player made mods are pretty good. I remember reading about one that adjusted a ton of stats. Some of the mods take a stab at fixing the desync too.
