Crowbars on Hotline Miami

I was hosting HM on Death Wish and one of the players picked up a crowbar before we got into the basment area. In fact, we were still at the pickup truck objective.

I wasn't keeping my eye on players cause there was a swarm of cops around me, but the player who picked up the crowbar claims that at least one crowbar spawns outside. To my knowledge on mayhem and above only one crowbar spawns - in the basement, inside a cage.

So, is there a hidden crowbar outside (that appears on Death Wish) that i don't know about? Is there a slim chance the game's rng bugged out and spawned two crowbars on the map instead of one or is the guy a dirty liar and a cheater?

There can be. I know for a fact one can spawn on the ice machines handles to keep them shut or something.

Are you 100% sure? I know the ones outside spawn only on lower difficulties.

I mean, I can't swear to you that they spawn only on this or that difficulty but I can tell you with absolutely certainty that they do spawn on the upper level sometimes.

Sometimes none at all spawn, so I can't be sure. And if none can spawn, it wouldn't shock me that two or more could spawn.

And to be honest, I super doubt someone who is cheating is going to bother with such a minor cheat. It really makes very little difference, and if someone is going to hack they usually do it far more obviously.

I'm pretty sure that spawns are only drastically reduced above overkill, they still can happen but that's like a very low chance. If you want to test it yourself, there are mods that allow you to "see" the crowbar through walls so to say.

on dw to i found a crowbar outside so he probably wasnt cheating

After researching the net and doing some tests in game (both on vanilla and with mods) I have concluded that in fact only one crowbar spawns on mayhem and above. And the person was cheating.

'Crowbars spawn in different locations. Typically, one will spawn in the bunker, though others can be found around the motel (such as near the top floor vending machines or the ice-crate under the stairs).'

I know a bit about how cheat mods work, and as far as I know, I don't think you can actually cheat in mission items such as crowbars unless you're host?

I mean, it's possible, but this is Payday, so it's equally possible RNG just bugged out.
