Don't have to hold the F key
I don't know if this is a new feature but I can't find a way to turn it off. Whilst picking a lock I found that I only had to press the F key and the rest would be done for me, the only problem with this is that I can't seem to cancel it. If a dozer were to run at me whilst picking a lock would I just be stuck there?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

For those who don't know, when you hold down 'too many keys' (once again, your milage may vary on this) your keyboard will get 'jammed' and start repeating the keystroke until you unjam it. You may have encountered this before when opening a chat box only to see a myriad of keystrokes populating the text box.

Seems more likely to be this than a mod 'forcing' itself on you, though it's not a 'fault' moreso the nature of a non mechanical keyboard.
Well just to put it out there I don't use a keyboard, my device has mechanical switches.
You use one of THOSE too!. xD Like an external keypad with wheels on the side for switching weapons and stuff. :P

But in general, yes, it did happen to me as well.

If you manage to find a link to a mod that another person uses, then yes, I'd very much like to see that mod. I don't see how it's possible, but if it is, I'd like to know how.

I don't care about a video or screenshots. That proves nothing. I want to see the code of the mod that supposedly does it.

Undenying PROOF that mods can interfere with other people, even if the person using the mod is a CLIENT
I hope this proves all you nay-sayers wrong

Well theres a huge difference between marking and literally taking control of another player's F key. Not saying it is not a problem. Just saying that the game think its an hostage that has been marked so you get the outline too. But thats done on the client side and when the client send you the info that (HEY I JUST DOMINATED A GUARD BUT LOOK ITS A CIV!) your game dosent know the ♥♥♥♥ he should do with it and just ouline it like a civ. But thats most likely because that specific mod must use code similar to how we mark enemies thus it shares to all players or something.. I might be wrong there thought.

But one thing I AM sure of. Locking the F key is a totally different school of work.

You don't even read what he said did you? He said that the interact function is client specific, and there is no way for the game of a client to transmit that data to you as the host.

The link you posted does not deal with that situation because outlining cops is something shared between clients.

So THERE is your UNDENYING PROOF that you still havent provided a video of before and after of clients some how causing you not to be able to interact with an object.

So you take one mod that relies on a synced mechanism and show that yes, it does indeed sync, and expect that to prove that an entirely local process would work the same way? I'm well aware that outlines can be influenced by clients because every time you mark something, a flag determines if this outline should be synced to peers, and if so they receive a message containing the unit to mark and the contour type. I can highlight every unit on the map for you if you want. The game is specifically made to support this, which is why it works. I can walk you through the exact command chain if you so desire.

What I want you to do is prove that clients can prevent you from cancelling standard interactions.

And i will prove it, when someone next uses that mod in my lobby. Just like i have provided proof that dominated cops can be marked for everyone.
Not knowing what mod it is that causes this however is a slight complication.
But i'm sure soon enough i will encounter a user with the mod, hey here's a thought, why don't you ask the people i kicked? Have you even asked them yet?

But you know what, i've already provided more than enough evidence that mods can interfere with others. You even said yourself you aknowledge that mods can be shared so why are you even denying that this "hold f mod" is a possibility?
I'm sure some day it will happen to you too and when it does i hope you realise you were wrong.

I'm not taking this further until i have even MORE proof from when someone joins my lobby with the mod.

I'm sure you will be hearing from me soon.

I will prove something that cannot be proven by conventional means.

I'll be back...
Good luck with that...

This is clearly bait at this point, or Altonator doesn't listen to explanations not in line with their conclusion. Either way, Altonator doesn't know anything about mods. And if it's a mod/glitch, then it belongs in that sub-forum.
To be honest, I think bait.
Please lock this thread, as it derailed into bait and hate.

I've had the F key bug quite a few times, and I only play in private servers with friends, no mods (from any of us). Also, it happens wether friends are online or if I am playing solo.

It mostly happens on Bank Heist, after working normally for the first few, I can sometimes get through half of the deposit boxes without having to hold the F key, then it suddenly goes back to normal.
