Is there a way to politely tell someone I don't speak their language?

I know this isn't exclusive to this game, but I've been in multiple Russian/Spanish servers before. How can I tell people that I don't speak their language without coming of as an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ demanding them to speak English? I just want to let them know that what they're saying isn't going through.

with Russian people you need to keep silence, or to communicate with very simple phrases

The only way you can really do that is by opening up google translate and translating "Sorry I only speak English" to their language

'I only speak English'. works for me. People either say 'ok' or they switch to English, if they can.

There's a mod that translates chat if you want to make more of an effort

We can't type it, as we don't have cyrillic keyboard, AND we can't say out loud as we can't read it.

When in-game, open chat and hit Insert.
I'm on the English version of the game and it recognizes cyrillic characters no problem.
