Still, definitely a game to play with friends.
Why would you "expect better" from a game that's probably half the age of some of the new players now? L4D2 in no way looks better than Payday 2 at its best. I play both. L4D2 has some cool mods to improve the characters and various visual elements but the game itself is very much of its time when it comes to visuals, it was no Crysis.
The tutorial missions are babby's first heist. If you're disappointed with them and taking the time to complain here but not trying an actual heist first that's just wasting your time and being silly. It'd take less time to do some heists than it would to make this thread and follow it.
Game plays well solo and many people enjoy it that way the most, but with a friend or a full crew of friends it's also really fun and for some that is what makes it. Game has stealth and loud options for play to suit various tastes. This thread is pointless really as you're doing a bad review of a game you admit you've not really played.
I play on 27inch screen 2560x1440 and it feels like the game isnt resoluted at this 1440p size but just upscaled 1080p. Probably easiest described as feels your playing on a lower resolution of your actual résolution.
Also the text action thingys an hud take up 10%screen and look like 50pt size fonts.. can u lower that? And running feels bit goofy and unnatural.
Since Payday The Heist starts you off in a loud heist, try doing a loud heist. Stealth tactics are nuanced and it's best to learn from someone who knows what they're doing. If after trying loud heists you don't feel like playing PD2 then don't force yourself to play it. Seeing that you only have 10 hours in PDTH I will guess that you won't want to play PD2, even though in many ways this game is superior.
To get a sense of how deep this game can get, you can spend a few hundred hours and only be decently good (loud/stealth combined). Lastly, HYOG (host your own games) if you decide to play public lobbies in Crime.net.
Hope this helps.
And like I said already OP, I play L4D2 plenty before and after it had the recent spurt of community updates and I know what it and Payday 2 looks like. I don't care how much someone says they play L4D2 or what they play it on (BTW the quality of the textures and models in that game are not up to the standards that OP is displaying them on anyway, so whatever) ESPECIALLY when that person repeatedly states they haven't even bothered to play PD2 properly to even make a valid comparison! It's just idiotic. Like reviewing a restaurant's food by peeking in the windows. Play through the heists and then you can judge.
Anyone who still plays L4D2 or anything of that vintage or older should be able to judge a game on...GAMEPLAY, instead of complaining that they aren't getting next gen AAA graphics from a game that's from 2013(!!) that never had the goal of being next gen graphics in the first place. If you "expect better" from such a game then you are misinformed or mistaken. It's that simple. SWAT 3 and 4 are still some of the best tactical games out there, especially for the police niche. Both look like budget games in visuals now, even though they were expensive to make back then. This is how it goes with time. In gameplay though they are superb and still have people buying them and modding them.
Compare it to Big Bank or other heists and it's night and day difference for complexity. They were added late on as a little free extra for future new players to get an easier time learning if they choose to use them. There was no tutorial for years.
Always go loud
Get caught up in min-maxing builds
Get to the point of complete zen
Carry your entire team without saying a word
Graphics add to a game, they usually aren't the most important thing.
