Duke is severely underrated.

Duke is my favorite character. His voice acting is amazing and I'm a bit of a history geek myself, but I see almost no one using him. Why do people go for Jimmy and Sydney but not Duke :(

Duke is an odd character. He was the winner of a "create your character" contest a while back, but OK decided to heavily integrate him into The Secret of Payday 2 (the storyline with Kataru and the Dentist's Loot, etc.). To a lot of people, he represents an "unnecessary" storyline coming to fruition, and the idea that he was displaced out of time is even weirder in a game (mostly) grounded in real life.

But as for people not using him, I see my fair share of Dukes online. Not to the level of Jacket or Sydney or Joy, but more than Houston, Dragan, and especially Ethan/Hila.

I actually irrationally dislike Duke's voicelines. I can't put my finger on why, but I just don't like them. The VA is great, the writing just... isn't, for me.

Duke is my absolute, non-negotiable main, I'm not exactly sure about how I feel about his major role in the story, but I much prefer his more sophisticated sounding and less aggressive way of speaking to that of pretty much every other character.

Also his perk deck is a pure beast for nearly every difficulty.

I find it facinating that they tied a fan-made character to the game without it feeling like someone's cringy OC from some obscure website.

I thought that Duke was accepted very well by the forum community. Mostly positive comments, people seemed to like the direction they went with him and the voice acting. He stands out and still fits in with the team and the story.

While he was received well, I just find it weird not a lot of people play him.

Outside of his heavy presence in late-story activities, I find him oddly charming. Works for me as I get to play him when I boot up the game with pals.

I'll use Duke every now and then, but Jimmy and Sydney are my two mains. I think they have the best/most humorous voice lines.

Duke is my main char, and I'm cool with the fact that not many people use him cause it means that whenever I'll join a random group I'll always have a good chance to play as him.

That's actually a perfect reason, that is also one of the reasons I play Dragan (Duke is damn cool though, I use him sometimes)

Yea I tried using hoxton but I NEVER got to play as him. Same story with jimmy and sydney (but I HATE sydney)
